Fitbit Update: 8/15

Hey all!

This week we released the option to opt-in to use the new dashboard to everyone. At this time, everyone should have received the option to opt-in already. If you didn't opt-in, we will transition everyone into the new dashboard in the coming weeks.

A reminder, after you've opted into the new design you cannot revert and go back to the old one. Read more about the new interface we've designed here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

Make sure you're also on the latest version of the Fitbit app.

Thanks for your patience while we completely released the new interface to everyone. We hope you're enjoying the improvements that have been made and appreciate all the feedback.

Fitbit Update: 8/6

Hey everyone!

Thanks for all your feedback on the new dashboard design. We're still in the process of releasing it to all of our users. If you don't see it yet, you will have it pushed to you in the coming weeks! This has been a slow process for the past few months to ensure a smooth rollout.

We're currently on app version 3.3, so please make sure as always that you have the latest version of the Fitbit app

Once we've released this new dashboard to everyone, we will announce it in this thread.

Fitbit Update: 6/17

Hi Fitbit Family,

We are still rolling out our updated Fitbit app design to more users currently with v.2.95. Please make sure to update the Fitbit app by visiting the App store if you haven't already. If you don't see the new dashboard just yet, you will be receiving it at some point in the coming weeks.

Thanks so much for your patience throughout this rollout. To read more about this new dashboard experience, please check this article out: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

Once this rollout is complete, we will let you all know in this thread.

Fitbit Update: 5/22

Hi everyone!

We’ve rolled out another phase of testing for the new app dashboard experience. If you’re one of the lucky people to see it before the full release, you can read more about it here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

We’ll continue to slowly release this to all Fitbit customers on iOS and Android. Once we receive more information on this, we’ll let you know.

Hope you’re all enjoying this new layout!

Fitbit Update: 4/24

Hi everyone!

Beginning today with app v2.92, we're excited to announce a new dashboard experience for the Fitbit app, currently by invitation only. If you are invited to opt-in, you can see the new design and try our new app experience to access all your stats and information in a way that’s more dynamic, integrated, and highly personalized.

You can read more about it in this help article: What's the new Fitbit app experience?

As with all our new dashboard updates, this is a progressive rollout. If you don't have an invitation or see the dashboard immediately, you will receive it later on.

We will update this thread with more information later, so stay tuned!

Is there any way to go back to the old dashboard? I don’t like the new one.

@ECox The rhetoric of some posts is perhaps a bit more over-the-top than is my general style, but the reality seems to be that they made a bunch of stylistic changes without providing any new capabilities.  That's frustrating.

People keep pointing to the ability to "adjust the tiles so everyone can see their tiles that matter the most at a glance" as an example of something new.  It's not - the functionality works just fine on the old version of the dashboard.  I've asked, nobody has been able to come up with an example of something that is new, not just different. *Everything* on the "what's new" article (https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2435) is just rearrangement for the sake of rearrangement.  That turns many long-time users off.  Search for "new fitbit app" on Twitter and you'll look for a long while before you find a positive post about it (I gave up).

May I please be invited? I would love to give feedback on new features!

There’s nothing new in this new app other than its dismal performance and total lack in design.
I’ve already looked into leaving, but the alternative I am interested in is on the cusp of a new model release so am having to make do with this app for now 😩

I tried the new dashboard today and I really don’t like it, and please don’t say like on other topics that I will get used to it. I loved the old dashboard and wanted to try new hoping it would be even better. You can’t imagine my disappointment. I tried couple of recommendations on how to restore old one but nothing seems to work. Could you please advise?

@ECox  I am right there with you. It sounds like it won’t be much longer though:). Sounds like customer service there is the bomb as well!  Patience is a virtue;)

Hi @MikeKinser@Kdw26@LjubisaP@Jo1987@Lsweet and @ECox, it's nice to see you around. @Jeffito, @Kauffie, @tanya-k, @Blas02, @jmm25, @bluehog67, @lindseyBD and @annabellegarrit, welcome on board. @SteveH and @Rich_Laue, I'm glad you stopped around, and thanks for your great help!

@Jeffito@bluehog67@lindseyBD@ECox@annabellegarrit@greghei1 and @Martina1234, thanks for all your comments. As mentioned through this thread, our team implemented changes based on the feedback received from other users, and we'll also take yours to keep working on our services. While there isn't an option to return to the old dashboard, I appreciate the time that you've taken to share your thoughts. If you happen to have issues with any feature in the Fitbit app, feel free to let me know.

@MikeKinser@LjubisaP and @Blas02, thanks for getting back, as well for sharing more details about this situation. I've shared your information to our team and I was informed that the next Fitbit app version will be out soon, make sure to update it as soon as it's available in the App Store. If the issue persists afterwards, let me know so I can forward your information to them and continue working with you.

@Kdw26, thanks for getting back and sharing more details. I'm sorry about this situation, and thanks for your efforts. To keep investigating, let me know the information requested in my previous post, as well confirm if you tried the steps suggested there.

@Kauffie, thanks for bringing this to my attention, and sharing detailed information about this situation. I've checked with our Support Team and apparently they already took your case under their wings. Keep an eye on your email inbox, you'll receive more details about your case.

@tanya-k, thanks for stopping by to share your thoughts. At this moment, I don't have information if the macros will be seen in grams in a future update of the Fitbit app, but you can see them in the Food section on your online dashboard. I understand the importance of seeing these helpful details in the app, and we'll keep working to improve our features.

@jmm25, thanks for joining the conversation, and I'm sorry about this. Thanks for trying the steps posted by @SteveH and I'm glad they worked for you.

@Jo1987, thanks for your efforts in trying the steps from my previous post. So I can further investigate, please provide me with your iPhone's model and iOS version?

@DALEK_77, thanks for your interest in the new dashboard, as well for your willingness in sharing your feedback. Our team is progressively rolling out the new dashboard to all our users. While I don' have details when you'll receive it, I'd recommend to keep the Fitbit app up to date so you can get it.

@Lsweet, thanks for getting back and sharing your comments. To continue helping with the clock face of your device not working, could you please let me know if the issue only happens when the "Retro" clock face is in use? Also, have you tried restarting your device?

I'll be around if you need anything else.

I have an iPhone 8 and I still don’t have the new app update. Are they still rolling them out? When can I expect to get it in my App Store?

The new dashboard is very frustrating. I used to be able to see 2 of my “Today” tiles without scrolling, but now all I can see is the steps / activity items and the Workweek Hustle challenge takes up the rest of the screen. It’s very inefficient.

Also the sleep tile is now pretty useless. The old “rainbow” design showed me my sleep pattern at a glance without having to tap into it, but now it just shows the total.

Weight loss “rainbow” was also much more satisfying to look at, focusing in how much I lost and helping me visualize it.

Over all, I’m very disappointed. I know that every time there’s a major redesign people get upset, but this redesign actually makes me not want to check the app anymore.

@LizzyFitbit thanks for your response. From a “things not working” point of view I have arranged my challenges to be at the bottom of my home page as I want to see my stats, not a list of challenges. I have had to do a hard reset and a phone reboot to get this to happen. Now tho, every time I set up a challenge or accept a challenge, that challenge is placed above my stats again. So basically I have to re-edit my home page every time I set up or accept a challenge. Not good.
From a design point of view, I maintain this app is beyond awful and I am not alone. If this is the future of Fitbit then I don’t see myself a part of it (customer since 2012). I want my stats. At a glance. Above and beyond all else. With the old dashboard I had exactly that, all my stats were there on screen, no scrolling. Detailed data was available at a tap, no scrolling. Colour coding showed me how I was getting on and rewarding. Challenges were fun to be a part of without being in my face. All of that is gone. The usefulness, the motivational colour schemes and the fun is gone.
Just a clunky for ever wasting my life scrolling drab platform is left 😩

What happened to the green? I got the new dashboard and now there’s no green when you hit your goal... not on any of the smaller goals, and not as an option when you share your dashboard. Is this a glitch or is it on purpose?

It also seems like there was a change in how calorie burn is counted. My burn dropped by like 400 calories for a day with the same amount of exercise, maybe more (3.5 mile walk + 30 mins bike). Did this change too?

So I just got an update for my Fitbit and it says version 3.0. It’s not the new dashboard? Why don’t I have it yet?

Hi @JHicks133@inko9nito@kmhd@Javetteb and @JRDH62. Welcome to the Community Forums. @Jo1987@ECox and @SunsetRunner, I'm glad to see you around.

@JHicks133 and @Javetteb, thanks for your interest in the new dashboard. Our team is still rolling out the new dashboard to all our users. Once this is completed, you'll see this version reflected in the Fitbit app.

@inko9nito@JRDH62 and @SunsetRunner, thanks for stopping by and sharing your comments about the new dashboard in the Fitbit app. While there isn't an option to revert to the previous dashboard, our team will continue to take your feedback into consideration to work on the Fitbit app and improve its features. To check more details about how to navigate through the new dashboard and adjust the tiles, check this help article.

@ECox, thanks for getting back. About the challenges, it's expected to see the one that were just started or accepted above he rest of your tiles so you can see them after receiving the invite. We'll keep working to improve the app and we appreciate your feedback.

@Jo1987, thanks for replying back with the requested information. Today our team released a new update for the Fitbit app. If you've not done so, I'd recommend to download it from the App Store so the app can work correctly. If the same keeps happening after the update, let me know so I can share this information to our team.

@kmhd, thanks for joining the conversation, I'll help you with your inquiries. The color of the tiles changed from green to teal with the new dashboard. Thanks for sharing your thoughts about this change, and we'll make sure to work on the app based on the feedback shared in the Community. About your other question, while there is a new design for the dashboard, this didn't affect how the calories are counted. To investigate about that, may I know if you've made any change in your personal information? Also, have you noticed any discrepancy with the heart rate?

I'll be around, keep me posted.

I think my message got tagged with someone else’s and you misunderstood. I was replying to the comment about my app updating to OS 3.0 but my dashboard didn’t change to the new format. Trying to figure out why.
