I can’t say the suggested action “fixed” the issue. After setting my iPhone to airplane mode the app still immediately crashed twice. On the 3rd attempt it did launch and allow me to sync. That being said I was able to get the same result by just repeatedly launching the app (while not in airplane mode). I think it is definitely an app/server side issue but I’m hoping the “fix in the works” we I’ll be effective and published soon.

And yes, I have updated to the latest version and Also updated the IOS to the latest version. In addition the behavior was observed before the app and IOS updates so I tend yo think it’s more of a server side issue.

Mine worked briefly this morning but now continues to crash. Downdetector is reporting a system wide problem with the app (see https://downdetector.com/status/fitbit/).

My Fitbit app just started crashing today. It takes about ten tries each time I want to open it before it stays on.

My app is doing the same thing and so is my husband's - we did not receive any software updates as RJD56 mentions.  I have the Sense and my husband has the Charge.  It has to be something across the Fitbit app, not just localized to the Sense device.  Praying for a quick fix.  Thank you, Fitbit, in advance for correcting this issue.

This morning my app kept crashing. (iPhone user/iOS) Wouldn’t even open. Many are experiencing the same problem. A couple times, when I kept trying, it did stay open and it synced. However, it didn’t stay open for more than a minute, and it would crash again. So are we supposed to reinstall? My apps auto update so I’m assuming whatever was done to fix something is making it crash. Although I’ve had this problem before, a while ago, but it didn’t last as long as this problem.

Every time I tried to open the app this morning it flashes open and then gone. I went to the App Store to see if there was an update, and it updated last night. Above in the forum it says the new update is for iOS 14 and higher. I have a 13, but my iOS software is the latest 16 update. So I clicked the link in the forum to get updated app and after clicking it twice it finally opened but now I fear this will be a constant problem.

I have deleted and reinstalled and it still won't open.  Anyone else having this issue?

It is FitBit, not you. If you turn the iPhone to Flight Mode (I.e. cut off internet access) you can get the App to load and sync with your device. But turn Flight Mode off, and its back to crashing again. That suggests the error is probably server side at FitBit.

If you long tounch the app (rather than just tapping it, then select "log water", then the app stays open and you can navaigate back to the main screen, I'm not sure this is a fix, but appears to be a work around.

I found this article online Fitbit app crashing issue on iOS devices acknowledged, fix in the works (piunikaweb.com) . Seems fitbit has yet again done some sort of failed App or tracker update and sent our devices into choas.
