Fitbit iOS app not showing steps on dashboard

Hi both my partner and myself have the same phone(iPhone 5s), we have both downloaded the fitbit app even though neither of us own a fitbit at present, mine shows everything on the dashboard but his is missing the steps icon, we have checked to see if it is just hidden but it is not, why is it working on my phone but not his, please can someone help us

If you haven't set up a tracker on the Fitbit app but you're able to see the step tile and your husband not, it's possible you have set up MobileTrack on your phone. Please tap on the Account icon on the top right corner and check if under your husband's name MobileTrack is listed. If not, that explains why he's not able to see the step tile. 

 

In order to set up MobileTrack:

  1. Open the Fitbit app and tap on the Account symbol at the top right corner of the screen, then tap on "Set up a New Device"
  2. Choose MobileTrack and follow the onscreen instructions.

Hi have done what you have said but on his when I click on set up a new device all that comes up is the different trackers, mobile track does not come up at all, I can see it on mine but his doesn't seem to be working

This seems like a very odd situation, as the iPhone 5S is indeed compatible with MobileTrack. If your husband's phone fully updated to the latest iOS version? Has he updated the Fitbit app recently? If so, when setting up a new device, on the next screen MobileTrack will be displayed at the bottom:

If MobileTrack is not showing up, please go to the phone Settings > Fitbit and make sure Motion & Fitness is enabled.

no that doesn't come up on his phone, but just discovered his phone is an ipone 5c not a 5s like mine, have read in other forums that this is not compatible with mobiletrack

thanks for your help looks like he wont be able to have it

Hello @kim54, thanks for replying to me and clarifying the situation. Even when the iPhone 5S is compatible with MobileTrack, the iPhone 5C is not, as it doesn't have the sensors included on the 5S that allow the app to track steps and other basic functions.
