Just a heads up if you’re using iOS 15 new privacy relay feature the Fitbit app won’t sync to your Fitbit while on cellular data. If you’re on your home WiFi it works fine. Apple has a ticket open.

like a lot of other users here dating back to 2017, I'm suddenly having an issue with my iOS app saying that I don't have an internet connection whenever I'm not on a wifi connection (despite have very strong 5G or LTE). The app refused to let me sync my device unless I'm on a Wifi connection even though there is a bluetooth connection between my device and phone AND I have adequate 5G service. This was definitely not the case even just a few weeks ago. To add insult to injury, I've only received really ridiculous suggestions from tech support (one of them told me it was because my "clock face didn't have the right permissions" whatever that means??!?). This fitbit has pretty much become useless to me since I'm only on wifi at the end of my day/night and first thing in the morning which means I can't see any of my stats or sync any of my activities throughout the day. Anyone have any luck with getting some not-absurd insight or advice around this issue?

Just a follow up to this - if this in fact the way the app now behaves on iOS, my Luxe becomes useless as a watch every time i step off a plane in a different time zone (until I reach my hotel and get checked in and get to my room and connect to the Wi-Fi). This can’t be a deliberate change in the app, it makes zero sense.

Yes cellular is on. Yes I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Yes I’ve unpaired and repaired the Fitbit to my phone. Yes I’ve tried force quitting. Yes I’ve tried restarting the phone. Yes I’ve tried restarting the Fitbit. There is obviously either a bug with the app or the app is now designed to work this way (guessing so google can harvest more date on their users without burning through their cellular data plan). If it’s the latter, this should be made clear to users so they don’t waste time trying to resolve the issue and can just make the decision to switch to a Garmin or Apple Watch or etc.

I've been pretty diligent lately with syncing. I've noticed that the app won't connect to the Fitbit without WiFi. It does have an option for use cellular. But it just says no internet. What's the point of that option if it doesn't do anything.
Thanks

iPhone 13 pro
iOS 15
noticed the problem sporadically on my previous iPhone 11 Pro a few weeks ago but would often resolve itself. Since upgrading to iPhone 13 pro, the problem has been persistent and seems to be a result of being designed to work this way now (?). To be clear, I have a very clear/strong 5G (or LTE) signal when I'm attempting to sync. But it will only sync when connected to Wi-Fi. When on 5G or LTE, it claims that I do not have an internet connection despite the fact that I do.

Not sure if an the only one experiencing this issue. After updating my phone’s operating system to iOS15, the Fitbit app has no longer been able to establish a cellular internet connection, this primping a “No Internet Connection” message, and thus not synchronizing or letting me use drop down libraries until I establish a Wi-Fi connection.
Based on my history with Fitbit support, I expect that someone will a) get back to me in a few months when the problem has been resolved, b) not get back to me at all, or c) get back to me to convince me that the problem that I am experiencing is a product of my imagination (which happened once before).
if I have to guess, Fitbit has not taken the time to see what updates need to be made to its app to make it work with iOS15.
Anyway, putting it out there to see if others are experiencing this issue.

I’m having the same issue after doing my update to IOS 15. Fitbit support said I had to call my cell provider which I did , my cell provider said I needed to talk to Apple, which I did . Apple said it was the app so talk to the developer, so I keep going around in circles. My Fitbit now is just a regular watch
