The Fitbit app adds food by itself and it doesn’t add information about others I add by hand. This occurs randomly…

Do you have another app linked to your Fitbit account, where you also log your food?

If so this could explain the double record. If the other app syncs with your Fitbit account, and you log your meals on both apps, you could see both records shown.
