GPS map not loading properly

As the title says, my map does not load in my Exercise tab after I’ve been for a run. It does load when I click on the run itself, so it has definitely been tracked correctly, it just won’t load in the list view.

any ideas on how to fix it? I use a Charge 2 with an iPhone 11, everything’s already up to date.

Hi @Blondie1536. It's good to see you around and I'm sorry for the delayed response.

Thanks for sharing that your exercise map doesn't load correctly, as well for the screenshot provided. As you mentioned, it seems to be an issue with the thumbnail as your GPS map appears when tapping on your exercise. That said, since everything is up to date let's try some steps together:

1. Log out from the Fitbit app.
2. Force quit the Fitbit app.
3. Reboot your phone.
4. Make sure your phone is using a strong WiFi connection or mobile data.
5. Open the Fitbit app and log back in.
6. Tap on the exercise tile and check if the map loads correctly this time.

Thanks for the recommendation but I’m afraid that hasn’t solved anything. I think it’s probably a lost cause to be honest.

I appreciate your efforts in trying the steps suggested above. I totally understand how you're feeling since the Fitbit app isn't displaying your map correctly on the list view. This shouldn't be happening at all and to further investigate on my end, please provide me with the following:

• Do you recall since when this started to happen?
• How many times has it happened?
• Aside of your Run activity, does it happen with other activities? If it does, let me know the name of those activities.

Hi Lizzy,

It started on 14th Feb. from looking at my history, happened for the next 3 Interval Workouts/Runs I logged, started working for the next few, and then stopped working again for a couple since last week. My run this morning has worked fine.

It has happened with both Run and Interval Workout (they're the only exercises I log that produce a map). There doesn't seem to be any pattern as it works on and off.

Thanks for getting back with the requested information. I'm sorry that your GPS map shows up inconsistently after the troubleshooting steps. Since this shouldn't be happening, I've gone ahead and escalated your case to our team so they can further investigate. In the meantime, make sure to keep the Fitbit app updated so the rest of your information can sync correctly in the Fitbit app.

My map isn't working either has been the last few weeks, of I try and add exercise before my run starts the map pops up shows where I am then disappears. It is recordibg my run time say 35 minutes but my map will be stuck on 0.2miles with a pace of 80 something. Then the map shows me running through a field rather than the route of of the road so it's lost signal somewhere. Hadn't been an issue till the last few weeks

I recently upgraded the Sense 2.  Since doing that maps are not appearing in my Fitbit app.  I go for a walk using same method I did for Sense 1.  I would click Exercise > Walk and start walking, click end when done.   No map data appears in the app on my phone.   Why not?  Sense 2 shold be tracking via its GPS regardless of whether I have phone with me.

i get the same with my fitbit versa 2. hasn’t recorded a mapped run or cycle for months now

Same here with inspire 3 today is the first it occurred to me on my afternoon walk displays incorrectly cuz I did not cut through school property but fitbit loved it saying I did but clearly did not fit bit needs to improve there gps tracking i walk around my block around the school not through like fitbit logs in this picture is inaccurate with my route

I did today with my walk im about to not use the exersize tabs if there gps isn't accurate fitbit do better fix ur gps tracking for crying out loud
