Does anyone know how I get the old dashboard back on my iOS app? I don’t have automatic updates turned on so I don’t know how this has happened? The new dashboard is not user friendly and set out very poorly

@MccG I don't really understand fitbits device compatibility thing. I would think that any phone that has bluetooth 4.0 would be compatible since all the fitbits have bluetooth 4.0.
I don't know if you have a windows 10 pc, but i would try the windows app just to see if your phone is really at fault or if maybe its an issue with the fitbit itself syncing. This link will hopefully help if you don't have a windows 10 pc, but ive see some users with the connect software complaining about prompts with no internet connection. I haven't had a chance to test it out yet. https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Windows-10-App/Where-can-I-download-the-Fitbit-Connect/td-p/1397522
I have an iphone se which was why i looked into apple health, but in your case maybe you'd want to try google fit before buying a new tracker/phone? There appears to be a similar app on the google play store that would sync to google fit https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fitapp.fittofit&hl=en_US I have no experience with this app it shows free, but i imagine the auto sync feature they will try and get you to buy.
It'll be like a week or two, but i can test both on an iphone and an android and report back.
In either case in this scenario the idea would be to use the apple heath/google fit dashboards instead of fitbit.
1. The fitbit devices would sync to your pc as opposed to the phone, but i'll also see if it can be achieved through the phone to sync to fitbit (should be automatic with the all day sync option fitbit has)
2. Powersync/fittofit would be used to sync the data to apple health/google fit (manually or automatic)
3. The iphone bluetooth pairing occurs in a way that its possible to still receive notifications. I'll confirm with android.
4. At this point you would still have the option to use fitbits dashboard, but you would also have the option of either apple health or google fit.
It's just one way to look at it. I have a fitbit Blaze and enjoy it ( no issue with the tracker), but the app; there is a lot of weird stuff going on making it unusable. Not to mention the app turning into a billboard!

@MccG I don't work for Fitbit, i'm just a frustrated fitbit user like you, but i want to make sure you have the right information. I'm primarily an iphone user so bear with me if my android terms are a little off
1. In regards to you having a phone that's not supported it shouldn't be an issue. As long as your phone is running at least android 7. So your phone would have to at least be running nougat, oreo, or pie. If you are running marshmallow or below you could have an issue which i'll explain way at the bottom.
2. There seems to be an issue with the charge 3 and having the wrong time zone selected and the time not being accurate. https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Charge-3/Charge-3-is-showing-wrong-time/td-p/3367615 and https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Charge-3/Charge-3-showing-incorrect-time/td-p/3118456
2a. This might shed some light onto why you are seeing that weird behavior in those sleep patterns. It could also explain why you aren't seeing data on the phone and having to reinstall the app. I initially started using fitbit with Windows phone and it had that time zone issue (i used to travel for work). There was weird stuff going on when the the time zone changed. When it jumped forward i had a gap in data, but when it went backwards i lost data and nothing would display. It ended up with me having fitbit reset my account, but that was back in 2014.
3. Tracked distance can vary and depends on what you are doing even though its the same route.
3a. Are you texting while exercising? if so your arm isn't getting that full range of motion and you won't get credit for steps.
3b. If you notice when you are pushing a shopping cart you don't get credit for every step. This kind of explains what happens when you are texting, but could also be true if you are holding your phone to your ear while on a phone call and the tracker is on that hand.
3c. Are you mapping your run? Fitbit hasn't provided a definitive answer on this yet, the but i think its counting your charge 3 and your phone as a tracker (my guess is the connected gps wasn't implemented correctly), which means that you are now using 2 devices at once and fitbit will take the data from those two devices and merge it into one data set.
Now if your phone is on marshmellow or below you can run into issues as things change with each new release (its true for the iphone too). New dependencies can be added to android just like some can be removed. If fitbit based part of the app on something that was available in marshmallow, but it was removed in nougat Fitbit has to change the feature to make it work. Not every phone is eligible for every OS update so as bugs are fixed in the app you won't be able to benefit from the fixes. Google should let you have the last stable release of the fitbit app for marshmallow, but if fitbit didn't catch the error affecting your tracker until nougat your out of luck.
I wouldn't accept being told your mobile device isn't on the approved list as an answer if you're on at least android 7!

The reason I use my Fitbit ahead of the extra functionality in other areas of my Apple Watch was for the large, real-time heart rate display that I could easily see with my phone in the treadmill slot, and adjust my exercise for the zone I wanted. Now the heat rate display is so small I would have to stop exercising to get close enough to the phone to see it. Useless. Why change the app display? If it’s not broke, why break it?

Please have someone read the multitude of complaints against this forced dashboard update. Today my step count reverted back to 7300 at least 3 times. It would flash 8000+ (my goal) and then go back to 7300! Finally i turned off my phone and walked until I dropped then plugged the Inspire into the charger without turning my iphone on so it wouldn't set me back to 7300 again. I also couldn't manually log any exercise. This new dashboard is really terrible. Not only is the display so boring, it doesn't do what it should do. Go back to the old one PLEASE!!!!!

I just don't understand how a company can go soooo wrong with their app update. If they don't fix this I will switch to a different brand of watch entirely. I was one of the first to get one in my circle and when I lost that one, I went into a slump. But I bought the basic Inspire last year and was doing so well. The stats really inspired me to keep up my commitment. I don't want to lose my motivation though so will track my activity on my own for now and just hope they fire the people who thought this new update was worth all the money they poured into it. I think it's really important to avoid letting this glitchy performance throw us off your game. Imagine those potential buyers considering purchasing a watch and reading the new reviews. People vote with their feet - well we used to until it failed to log our steps LOL!

It’s a moot point. I dumped my Fitbit for a different company. They lost five customers with my family.

Totally agree the new dashboard looks so cheap and does not motivate in the least. Plus it’s user unfriendly.
