How does a person delete old notifications from the app? I have notifications going all the way back to March when I first got my Fitbit. There seems to be no way.

This "answer" was sent in 2018. Thete is no recent replies. My Fitbit will NOT delete ANY notifications. Neither does it give reminders to move.

Hello @DebX thanks for joining the conversation, welcome to the Fitbit Community. It's nice to see you @KyKenD, I hope you're doing well.

@KyKenD I appreciate you have taken the time to post your feedback. Note that due to the massive feedback regarding Notifications in the app, these sere removed on June 2018. Thanks for sharing your feedback, our team finds it really helpful.

@DebX, note that as mentioned earlier, it's not possible to delete in-app Notifications or Messages that have reached the Fitbit app on your side. Now, when it comes to Reminders to Move; tell me, which device are you currently wearing? Have you restarted it already? If so, please go to the Fitbit app and tap on Account > Your Device > Reminders to Move and turn them off. After that, force-quit the app, go back and enable them again. Finally, sync your device.

Give these steps a try and let us know in case you need further assistance, we'll be happy to help.

I do not think your team are working on this point! Id say its the exact opposite! why we cannot delete notifications is down to Fitbits lack of interest.

If Notifications in the app have been turned off for almost a year, then why do I constantly get a Fitbit notification on my phone? And why can I not clear the red dot on notifications within the app? I despise notification dots-especially ones I can’t clear.

Hello @Blaahhh thanks for joining the conversation, it's great to have you on board the Fitbit Community.

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for sharing your experience with us. I understand you're having a hard time with the red dot showing in the Notifications and what some of the Community members have tried successfully is uninstalling and reinstalling the app. If you'd like to try this, please sync your Fitbit device one last time before uninstalling the Fitbit app to prevent any data loss.

Remember that your data gets stored in our servers and not in your phone so uninstalling the app will not delete any of your previous information.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, if there's anything else we can do for you, please feel free to reply.

Notifications are not erasing themselves. I have notifications going back to April 2017-'2 Fitbits ago. They will not erase no matter what I do.

Hello @Me2222 thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, have a warm welcome.

Thanks for your participation in the Forums and for joining the conversation. Please note that in-app Notifications can't be deleted, the only ones who get deleted after 30 days are private messages.

Same. Seriously annoying.

That is the most ridiculous non-solution I’ve ever heard up for an electronic device problem. With all the app buttons that exist, there is no reason why a swipe left delete couldn’t have been added. If I want to create more space for something more important than what I have already seen, I should be able to eliminate notifications  immediately. Telling me I have to turn off my phone and reboot is an inconvenience that is unnecessary. Fitbit programmers need to get their act together.

Poor @MarcoGFitbit : For years, the FitBit community has been begging for the ability to delete notifications and for years, you've been posting the party line that the "change is gonna come." But it hasn't! I just got a Charge3 which I can link to only on my phone (not my laptop, which I prefer) ... and with the app came notifications from my Charge2 going way back. I never had these before (maybe they don't show up on laptop versions?) and don't want them now. Please please PLEASE don't give us another pat on the head and tell us the team is looking into this, unless they really are!

Sorry to say they do not automatically delete after 30 days. So what is fitbits next step to correct this problem?

How do I get rid of the red dot telling me I have new notifications? I don’t have new ones... in fact I have hundreds of notifications. All old ones

The problem is not solved, please correct the post. It seems many of us have this problem, would expect you to figure out a solution that works. Even in your answer you acknowledge your solution might not work which is the case for me.

For crying out loud FitBit just FIX it!  Endlessly parroting that it isn't possible and to make a feature request or vote on one does not resolve the issue.  This is a simple app update, not a hardware overhaul.  And you should be ashamed of yourselves for utilizing a "notification" feature without fully developing it with the most basic of features like the ability to delete.  This issue has been standing for... as long as I've owned a FitBit which is going on 4 years now.  That is truly, truly pathetic.

I see they've put out an update recently which should have resolved this but of course: did not.

I want to manually delete all the old notifications in my Fitbit app...why can’t you offer this?

You just did an update to the Fitbit Android application and there still is no way to delete notifications???

WHY?

Also, I have notifications back to Aug 2017.

WHY?

Also the UI on this Community form is poorly done IMHO. I had to school down 7 pages to view the latest replies. You should reverse the order so that the latest message in the thread is displayed. Let's first consider the FitBit end users when designing any application features...

Yup just got the upgraded UI in Android app aaaaaaand:

The notifications from 2017 ARE STILL THERE.

Mine are going back years, not days.  How to remove them from the app?  It also states that I have 12 new notifications, which I do not.  Logging out and back in does not solve the issue. LM
