How to remove notifications inside the Fitbit app?

I get a lot of notifications on my iPhone. Are notifications stored on my iPhone? There does not seem to be a way to delete or clear the notifications. If they are stored on my iPhone, they are using memory. If so, how do I delete them/

You can’t. It is a huge sore spot with FitBit users. There’s a rather
long thread on the subject. Thus far FitBit has ignored our pleas.

Like Radar on MASH, I try not to think about it any more. I disabled as
many notification as I could and just look at the weekly report.

Not sure why the failure to act. This has definitely been going on for a while. Are they even reading/ taking notes of our concerns. This should be such an easy fix.

Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well. Smiley Happy

I appreciate you have brought this to my attention. Please note that based on customer feedback, the Fitbit app has stopped showing notifications in the Notification Center, however the in-app Notifications that are showing already can't be removed. If you like, you can continue to receive these notifications as push notifications by turning on Push Notifications in the app under Account > Notifications. Additionally, go to your phone Settings > Notifications > Fitbit and ensure the following is enabled:

  • Allow Notifications
  • Show on Lock Screen
  • Show in History.

Additionally, you can go to the Fitbit app and tap on Account > Notifications and disable the options of your choice, this way you won't receive them as push Notifications on your phone.

I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

WOW with today’s technology I can’t believe that there is no way to remove a years worth of notifications on my Fitbit AP on my iphone6. I see by turning off notifications that the last 30 days are erased but my notifications go back to 2017. Would setting up a new account with a new email address keep notifications at all?

Hello @darcy501, I hope you're doing well, thanks for taking the time to reply. Smiley Happy

I appreciate your participation in the forums and I understand your concern about this feature. Please note that if you create a new account using a new email address you won't receive any more in-app Notifications about your steps as they will only come through as push Notifications on your phone, but in order to stop receiving in-app Notifications at all you will need to disable these options as well:

I hope this resolves your inquiry, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

One year later, and this is still a problem? Why hasn't Fitbit provided a solution to remove the notifications that FitBit generates from our iPhones? The one thing that we should be able to remove within our devices is being blocked? When will this be resolved? The solution is NOT resolved.

I appreciate you have come back and let us know what you've done to "delete" the old Notifications on your account. I understand this was not an ideal solution for you and I'm sorry you lost your previous information by creating a new account. Please note that once our team releases a new feature that will allow to delete in-app Notifications, we'll make sure to post it here in the official Forums.

Thanks again for your understanding, I hope you have a great day.

Thanks to all users for their input. It is truly very sad that you had to create a new account to get rid of notifications. That is so not ideal. This should be such an easy fix for Fitbit and yet it’s proven not to be. I’m honestly disappointed. It just feels like we are being given information to appease us and nothing is being done to resolve it. I would have love to hear that “our team is working on a resolution “
I do hope that they are though as they do have a reputation to uphold.

Even more annoying than not being able to delete notification is the moderator repeating the same answer over and over again for a year! Fix the problem!

I understand your concern about this situation. Please note that our team is working towards to provide a satisfactory resolution for it. They have progressed a bit by removing these Notifications altogether from the Fitbit app, meaning that you won't receive them anymore, unless you choose to.

Once we have more to share about this situation be assured we will post it here in the official Forums.

Thanks again for your patience and understanding, I hope you have a great day.

As moderator are you an employee?

i think it is absurd that the issue of deleting notifications has gone on for over a year. In working with the support organization I was told this was a change made by engineering to working functionality without customer input. It is causing a lack of notifications because the file is full. I ask does engineering use their own (released) product ? How would they if they couldn’t delete old email?

Best Answer

I so agree it’s Very frustrating and annoying I just wish that get on finding a solution

UPDATE:

I believe the moderator is repeating the same thing over and over and over again I don’t think they take any notice

Are you asking me if I am a moderator? I am a consumer of a Fitbit product that requested help from the Fitbit community about an issue. Many positive and negative responses received. Which category should I put you in. Are you successful in deleting notifications?

I have not been participating in the latest round of messages as it is more than my 76 year old brain can comprehend.  However, to answer your question, I did not ask anyone if they were the moderator.  I am a consumer as are you.  I still have not been able to delete any my old notifications.  I did turn off my notifications; as a result, I have not received any since June 15th.
