Incorrect distance calculation on Alta using iPhone GPS tracking

Hi there, I have been for a walk/jog today on a track that I regularly take and know it is 5 km as per previous GPS tracking. But today it is showing as 4.49km on my fit bit app & when I look on the fitbit.com site it says 4.98km. I probably did do it a little faster today as I jogged more than previously. Plus I should mention my child usually carries the phone but today I went alone and carried the phone. 

My question is how can the app say I've done 4.49km & the website say I've done 4.98km?

This seems like a very odd situation. As your online Dashboard is showing more distance than the app, is possible the information is not updating correctly in the Fitbit app, in which case I would like to suggest force-closing it by double tapping the home button and swiping it up. If that doesn't do the trick, please log out from the app, restart your phone and log back in.

Hi,

I have tried both of these suggested solutions but it has not resolved the problem.

Is Fitbit working on a solution? It seems like it's definitely not only me with this problem.
