Hello and welcome @Jimmyc52

Im happy to see you here on the Fitbit Community. I understand your Fitbit tracker is on your counter now (most likely feeling lonely and unloved) let’s see if we can’t get your a Fitbit tracker up and running again. I think the best suggestion would be to restart your Fitbit tracker. You didn’t mention which tracker you have so please check here for instructions how to restart it. (You will not lose data your data doing this): https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1186

If your unsure of the restarting directions please let me know and I’ll try my best to explain it.
😃 please come back and let me know if restarting your tracker did indeed resolve your issue. I’ll be around so keep me posted.

Just noticed that IOS has yet another update --IOS13.1.3.  After the debacle of the previous update, and since I just got a new Charge 3, I do not plan to do the update at this time.  Please advise ASAP what your plan is to prevent another major issue.

Hello @SunsetRunner

Welcome and thank you for the question. This thread is about an individual having trouble with their Fitbit Tracker having issues after recently updating. Your question is confusing to me because I am unaware of what “debacle” you experienced with the previous update. I personally have the iOS 13.1.3 update, Fitbit App update 3.8  and using an Alta HR with no issues. A lot of factors can determine different issues. Choosing to update your device or not is your decision but do understand that not updating could cause certain things to not function fully 😃 I hope your enjoying your new Charge 3.

The "debacle" I was referring to was the previous IOS update that messed up a lot of devices;  My charge 3 would not sync to my phone after that and I had to get a new device -- which I just received a couple of days ago.  Today I noticed that there is another new update from IOS, and I am concerned that there will be a repeat of the issue that affected my previous device.  I want confirmation that this latest IOS update will not adversly affect my new device.

Hello again @SunsetRunner

I can not give you the confirmation you seek. Again there are different factors that may cause someone to experience issues after any update. Maybe your question would be better suited for Apple since the update is coming from them and not from Fitbit. I’m sorry I can’t be any more help then that.

> ABSOLUTELY! My Charge3 has gone to that place. Apple doesn’t care, so hopefully FITBIT will!

@Jimmyc52

When you say the app says your Fitbit is “dead” as you described do you mean your Fitbit App says your iOS device(iPad Air) is not syncing with your Charge 3 OR is your Fitbit “black” and nothing I’d showing on the FitBit display (time, steps etc)

Fitbit and I are working on it. Too coincidental. Update installed then an hr. later my device goes “haywire”! I’d stay away from new IOS until this is resolved. I’ll try to keep you posted.

OK things are finally starting to calm down, but I still have an issue. My heart rate is running resting anywhere between 90 and 160. Therefore the app for sleep is way off. According to the Fitbit I’m running all night long.

Hello ahead @Jimmyc52,

I'm happy to see that some of your original issues we have been able to resolve. In your most recent post you said your “running resting” (when referring to your heart rate) was 90-160. I’m not comfortable determining what is considered normal versus abnormal heart rate because I’m certainly not an expert in the cardio area of health. I think determining what is a healthy range for “you” should be discussed with your doctor. I can offer this information to help you track and monitor this information here: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1565/?q=Heart+rate&l=en_US&fs=Search&pn=1#restin...

😃 I hope this answers your question
