Missing Nutrition section after the app update

Last night I updated the Fitbit app.

This morning I started logging in my food and I’ve noticed that under the Macronutrients section there was no Nutrients section anymore.

I’ve had a hard time finding a place to ask a question about this, eventually l ended up requesting a chat. The person there requested photos, so l sent one from yesterday’s log- complete with the nutrients section, and one from today without the section.

The person asked if l can see the section from yesterday. I said yes. Then they told me to check my log for today, asked me if there is anything else they can help me with and closed the chat before I had time to reply.

Needless to say the Nutrient section is still missing, and I have to check every item l ate for its nutritional value, instead of having an overview.

I am annoyed and upset with this change and with the time l’ve spent trying to speak to someone, and the answer l’ve got.

Please fix the missing nutrient section.

While I am not suggesting that deleting the app and reinstalling would fix the issue - in fact I'm pretty confident it won't - you would not lose your data if you did. Your FitBit data (steps, calories, exercise, weight, etc) resides on the FitBit servers with some recent data cached locally on your phone. The warning is a generic warning from iOS for any data that resides local to your phone. I seem to remember that the last time I deleted the app, keychain provided my username and password the first time I logged the app in.

However, if you ever need to do so, make sure you perform a sync immediately before removing the app so the servers have the "latest and greatest".

Good luck and welcome to the boards.

Same here! I rely on it! Frustrating having to go yesterday’s food to get my carbs etc count!

The same for me. It seems it all started on the 3rd of March. Why can’t Fitbit go back to that date and see what’s wrong and fix it?? Frustrating!!!

Update:

YES!! Frustrating!

People say this doesn’t work! I’m afraid if I do this I’ll have more problems!

This has nothing to do with rebooting your app. Fitbit removed that functionality! We are wait g for them to bring it back.

Well, it is an app issue. I did not update my app and I have nutrients summary for current day. My husband updated his app and he lost it like you all. Fitbit decision makers appear to have caused the problem and we all wait for resolution with the next app update. I hope they resolve it expeditiously.

This is a bad suggestion as it does absolutely nothing to resolve the issue affecting so many users. It shows you have no clue about the problem. I’m not saying you have bad intentions. In fact I believe you want to help, but it appears you do now the app functionality. Please pass it to someone who made the decision or removing “Nutrients” summary from the current day. Hopefully it will get back with the next app update.

It’s the app issue. It appears Fitbit removed this functionality. Hopefully they will fix it with the next update.

Update:

The problem is with the app, not the phone. I update my app and Nutrients for today disappeared. My wife did not do any updates and she has it. Fitbit decision makers messed up. Hopefully another update will fix it. Cheers

Sorry for the bad news - you cannot fix it. It’s the latest Fitbit update that removed that functionality. Hopefully they bring it back with the next update. We all have to “scream” I guess

Hopefully they read these and will fix it!!

FitBit has made at least two app updates to fix bugs since this problem became well known in this community, but nothing appears to have addressed this problem. What’s the real status of this user requirement in the developers’ backlog?

After three weeks of patiently waiting to re-install a function that had existed for dozens of versions, I’m starting to wonder if it will ever get fixed.

I am wondering, too, if it will ever be fixed.

I bet it was at least a year ago the decimal point became missing under Food and adding Custom Foods. It’s impossible to accurately create a custom food without using a decimal. I messaged with FitBit about it several times.

Fingers crossed.

I am also wondering if they will ever fix it. I made a complaint via Twitter and they gave the standard list of options to quit / reinstall / etc and then said they would "open a ticket" but that's gotten nowhere. So annoying!!! 😖

I totally agree with you!! It’s ridiculous that they are taking so long to fix it. You’d think they could reverse the update at least until they have a fix for the issue. It’s been an issue for way too long!!

FYI -

Was not able to install 3.39.2 without first deleting 3.39.1 - No biggie.

3.39.2 still has the "show nutrients issue" - and of course that is a biggie.

At least we can still see previous days' detail - but not seeing current day's is still a bummer.

Be well Ms Liliya.

I installed the 3.39.2 update and found it had no effect on the problem. It's really puzzling why it's so hard to fix a bug for a feature that was working fine before the 3.39 update.

I think that whoever is moderating the thread from Fitbit has good intentions but that person has no authority to implement any change. In addition, the moderator appears to have no idea what this is all about as suggestions to reboot or reinstall the app bring more frustration for everybody. But hey, that’s what that moderator was hired for - to moderate, not to fix the app. What surprises me is that Fitbit appears not to care about their customers. In fact, they frustrate everyone by repeating to reboot or reinstall. I bet there are hundreds if not thousands more who are affected, but are not even aware of the “community” where this post / thread resides. It’s definitely a great example how to erode and maybe even loose loyalty among its customers. It should definitely be studied at business schools.

I must say I love my Fitbit and the app, but once I get to a point when I need a replacement, provided the issue is not fixed, I will likely, although reluctantly, look for other options. And once I’m gone, I’m gone for good.
...but whoever reading this is affected, there always is a pencil and paper, or a spreadsheet. I’ve stared logging “today’s” nutrients it in my spreadsheet. It’s less convenient, but I’m in control = no frustration. God Bless you all.

o moderator’s response about macronutrients:

it would be nice to have an option of sending feedback directly from the app. I bet more people would support the issue discussed in this thread

I tried this when I logged the issue last week. It came back briefly yesterday then disappeared again! Please fix the missing nutrition feature permanently! I’ve just forced an update to the app but it’s still not there
