Last night I updated the Fitbit app.
This morning I started logging in my food and I’ve noticed that under the Macronutrients section there was no Nutrients section anymore.
I’ve had a hard time finding a place to ask a question about this, eventually l ended up requesting a chat. The person there requested photos, so l sent one from yesterday’s log- complete with the nutrients section, and one from today without the section.
The person asked if l can see the section from yesterday. I said yes. Then they told me to check my log for today, asked me if there is anything else they can help me with and closed the chat before I had time to reply.
Needless to say the Nutrient section is still missing, and I have to check every item l ate for its nutritional value, instead of having an overview.
I am annoyed and upset with this change and with the time l’ve spent trying to speak to someone, and the answer l’ve got.
Please fix the missing nutrient section.

Mine is missing also. Has anyone gotten this to work?

I don’t think they’re even working on it, unfortunately. I think after all these weeks without it they would have had a fix by now. It’s very frustrating and disappointing.

I tend to agree. If they were actually working it at this point, we'd have some feedback that they know what the problem is and maybe even when they think they'd fix it. There's absolutely zero response from anyone who would actually be involved in fixing it. I really thought coming here to tell support what I was seeing would help in some way. Instead, all we get is a periodic "thank you for your patience." Patience time is over.

Updated app today, which didn't help. Then I tried deleting and reinstalling the app, which also did not help. Here are my current stats:
Fitbit App Version: 3.39.2 (1039)
Fitbit Charge 4 Version: 20001.100.34
iOS Version: 14.4.1
Apple iPhone 11
For those seeking a work around, you can go into your account on the Fitbit website and go to your "log" (next to your dashboard). Definitely not as convenient as the app, but you can see your Nutrients information for today.

@FBDave1 -
For those needing more extensive information, the web food log page is a poor substitute.
It is missing Saturated fat (which should be less than 10% of your daily calorie intake, or 22 grams for a 2,000 calorie day), Trans fat (which really needs to/should be z-e-r-o), Potassium (which helps offset some of sodium's harmful effects and helps to cleanse the blood), Cholesterol (which has a targeted healthful range), and Sugar (which have different maximums depending on the sex of the individual, and whether they have a blood sugar "issue").
And let's not forget the minerals that are tracked by the app's enhanced food log "nutrients" section.
If I thought the web food log summary was a valid work around, I would have never created the Feature Suggestion Board post in January of 2018 which was placed into production in the early summer of 2020.

It's now coming up on 3 weeks with no progress on resolving the issue. Is there any update on when the problem will be fixed?

Having the same problem! I would really like to see something more detailed than protein, carbs, and fats...

When I got inspire2 it showed food details like potassium and cholesterol and now it’s gone..why???

Why can I no longer see detail of macro for the day. I use Fitbit to track my daily totals.

Hi,
in the food section I can no longer see my nutrients breakdown for current day (i.e. fiber). I can see what it was after midnight, but the section looks to be removed on the current day.

Hello all, thank you for the updates.
I totally understand how frustrating this is for you. Our team is working to identify a resolution as quickly as possible. I'll update this thread once I receive more details from them. Thank you for your understanding.

Hopefully a fix can be found quickly, I was using the current day "show nutrition" to track sodium and it is useless to not know my totals until the next day.

Thank you for the update. It's just kind of amazing that there's been 3 maybe 4 app updates over the last 3 weeks and none of them can put this feature back? It's not like this is a new feature or something that people are asking for. It's just restoring functionality that was there before.

If it is so incredibly hard to get the feature working again (it must be otherwise why is it approaching 4 weeks with no fix), could there be an option to let users roll back the app to a version where it was still functional?

I continue to have the same problem - loss of Nutrition daily summary information. I have reinstalled the app 4 times. I get the function for the previous day’s entries but 50-50 getting it for current day. I think this started when you had the food entry outage. Today I again did a reinstall and no fix. PLEASE look into this issue. The function is very valuable to those of us that must monitor daily sodium, potassium and protein.

@J23J63 “It’s definitely a great example how to erode and maybe even loose loyalty among its customers. It should definitely be studied at business schools.”
Truer words were never spoken.
I was so excited about Fitbit, I even bought my mom one. I told her about the food tracking option and how you can see the nutritional value of everything you eat, etc. Fast forward a few months, one issue exposes the non existent customer service and complaints fall on deaf ears, as the issue persists after a month of continuous signaling.
I have thought the same thing (the quote) and while I will keep my Fitbit for a while, l am already researching better options, at least more responsive options.
Sincerely,
disappointed.

I can confirm that the 3.40 update does not fix the problem.
How many times can the moderator say "our team is working to identify a resolution" before the posts become meaningless? I counted five nearly identical posts from the moderator over the last 3 weeks that say nothing and provide no help.

I’ve been thinking quite a lot about this. Since I log my food every day and this issue, along with the first response l received from Fitbit, which was more of a dismissal, coupled with the infuriating moderator responses that provide no actual details of when this will be solved, perhaps it is time to get a refund. Fitbit already has my money and it is obvious that it doesn’t care if they will have it again in the future. But a refund will provide me some solace. I’m going to look into that.
