Missing Nutrition section after the app update

Last night I updated the Fitbit app.

This morning I started logging in my food and I’ve noticed that under the Macronutrients section there was no Nutrients section anymore.

I’ve had a hard time finding a place to ask a question about this, eventually l ended up requesting a chat. The person there requested photos, so l sent one from yesterday’s log- complete with the nutrients section, and one from today without the section.

The person asked if l can see the section from yesterday. I said yes. Then they told me to check my log for today, asked me if there is anything else they can help me with and closed the chat before I had time to reply.

Needless to say the Nutrient section is still missing, and I have to check every item l ate for its nutritional value, instead of having an overview.

I am annoyed and upset with this change and with the time l’ve spent trying to speak to someone, and the answer l’ve got.

Please fix the missing nutrient section.

I’ve given up on Fitbit. My birthday is coming up and I’ll treat myself to something else. This prolonged episode has shown Fitbit’s complete disregard for customer service so they don’t deserve our custom.

Sounds about right.

if you find something decent, please share.

I am interested for future purchases.

If I hadn’t just purchased the Sense last month, I’d be right there with you. Once I’m ready for a new one, I will also find something else. This is so ridiculous and I agree that the customer service is pretty much nonexistent. They can blame the pandemic all they want. I’ve had issues with them before the pandemic, too.

@BearFriend I just found a thread on Reddit titled

”Fitbit’s poor customer service now in the media”.

Guess some things don’t really change.

I believe you might still be under warranty, so perhaps a return is still in the cards.

i just emailed the place where I bought it to see my return possibilities.

Thanks for letting me know @IRatus I’m going to check into it and see if I can return it.

I’ve downloaded an app called eaterpad and it gives detailed nutrition information with more nutrients logged than Fitbit, working in much the same way. So far so good.

@Veganistacook , thank you, will look into it.

Hi all

since last month my extended nutrients has disappeared. I used to be able to click on the “nutrients” word when looking at my food log page to see how much sugar, protein, fibre etc I had eaten throughout the day. Now it only shows the following day after I’ve already eaten my food for the day which isn’t great as I’m tracking my sugar content. I want to know how much sugar I’m eating throughout the day but I can’t. It used to work fine until Fitbit crashed last month. Anyone have any tips?

ive already got the latest software on my phone and on the Fitbit app. I’ve restarted my phone many times and logged in and out of the app many times. Still nothing work. Any tips would be grateful 🙂

@LiliyaFitbit I am new to using the Fitbit app for logging my meals/nutrition. I am realizing that I am having a similar problem that other users are with the Nutrients section not being available for the current day, but being available for future and previous days. I verified that my phone and Fitbit app are updated completely. I also tried all the tips you listed above with no changes. Any further tips or information would be appreciated! Thanks for your time!

As we have all been saying, this feature was in place and working perfectly well until it disappeared with an update weeks ago. It just needs to be reinstated!!!! It can’t be that difficult as the features appear on all other days apart from Today

@LiliyaFitbit -

Issue remains at release 3.40.1.

Yes, we're all having the same issue, and wondering why nothing is being done about it.  Another poster suggested an app called EaterPad, which is FREE (other than all your info, like all the others), and it does work quite well.  It obviously does not balance between calories burned and calories left, but it works.  Maybe it can help you in the interim while Fitbit figures out what customer service and customer satisfaction is.

@FatRatchetI was wondering if anyone moved on to another brand after this month-long display of tone deafness. I guess l’ve got my answer. Thank you for coming back and sharing that.

By the way, I have a little story of my own. The place l’ve purchased my watch from offered me a refund and the possibility to pick another product from any brand, as long as l cover the price difference. So naturally l am weighing my options, and patiently waiting for a final nudge from Fitbit. Keeping fingers crossed for the last time.

So you’re saying the customer service is better...

@LiliyaFitbit 3.40.1 that was released in the last 24 hours did not fix the problem at all from my experience. It would be nice if we could get more frequent updates along with the timing that this will be fixed. Based on the fact that there have been 4 updates since the update that removed/broke the nutrition feature, it appears the development team is pushing out bug fixes on a weekly basis. It would be nice to have a more specific update that lets us know when this feature will be fixed, versus the current updates that just state that the team is aware. I'm going to assume the team has regular "stand up" meetings for some sort of Agile process or similar app development methodology and anyone close to that team could relay if the fix is on the list of things to do and when it is targeted for release. Thank you.

Nutrients is available on Android. I just checked. It’s only missing on IOS. That could mean it’s here to stay, and it’s not destined to be removed. It could also mean that nobody cares about the customer’s issues, a complaint peppered throughout the ratings of the app. I read quite a few as l was installing it on Android.

Maybe Fitbit will remove it from there too.

Maybe not, who knows. What is certain is the sheer volume of infuriated customers.

@Veganistacook I’m using an app called Fooducate to track my nutrition. It’s a very easy app to use and you can also add your own recipes and foods that aren’t in their database. You can even take a picture of the product. I purchased the lifetime premium version, so I’ll keep my Fitbit, at least for now, because it still tracks my sleep pretty accurately as well as my heart rate. Counting floors still doesn’t work accurately for me, but I can live with that. There’s NO WAY I’ll ever pay for Fitbit premium, though. That’s a total ripoff and I don’t think they deserve to have people pay extra when their customer service is so lousy and they can’t fix their mistakes in a timely fashion. It’s been over a month and they still don’t have a fix. Ridiculous and unacceptable!!!

Hello @dbbldr Welcome to the community forums!

To find the macronutrient screen in your Fitbit App, tap the food tile on your dashboard, and then swipe left on the graph at the top of the screen. If you've been logging food, you'll see a breakdown of your macro intake over the past week. Tap the top right of the graph to expand it.

If you're unable to find it or if you experience any error to see this, please let me know.

I look forward to your response.
