Missing data for past week

As of this evening, most of the data for my FitBit One for the past week is missing: Steps, Distance, Floors. On the main Today view the data for today is there and updating, but when I scroll back to previous days it shows the same data as today. The last day for which data is correct is Monday Aug 26.

Some of the data does appear to be intact: Active Minutes and Weight.

Updating the app (iOS) didn't help; nor did restarting my fitbit.

I contacted my parents to see if they were having the same issue; Dad has a FitBit One and saw the same thing; Mom has a different FitBit model and her data seems to be intact. So maybe this is just related to FitBit One? (Which makes no sense, as the past data should be stored on the fitbit server...)

I contacted fitbit help over the chat, and was told they are aware of the issue that that a fix would be coming "sometime in the next several weeks". Which seems way to long to fix an issue that is fundamental to the device.

I'm just wondering if anyone else is seeing this behavior?

Yep - that's the same exact fact pattern so many of us are having.  I'm not sure why they can't just send out the last version of the app as a patch if this is going to take a while to fix.  I like the one because I don't want to wear a device on my wrist where my watch is (yes, an old fashioned Seiko watch that does nothing but tell time with a clock face...).  While I know my data is still there, it's getting frustrating to see a month worth of zeros at this point and not be able to see where things are week over week, month over month, etc.  Thanks for sharing the info about the export - I didn't realize that was there.

Thanks! I agree four weeks is not acceptable.

MPB-1 - to support your idea that data is not being lost (just can't be read by the app) I am still able to see on my steps for week the length my current streak of beating my steps goal. There are no numbers above that - just a blank space. Additionally when you go to the badges it shows you the last day you earned it - so for the "Sneakers" badge- if you did 10,000 steps yesterday it would show that the last time you earned it was yesterday - and updates the number of times you  have earned that badge. I also get the stats by e-mail once a week and see that data as well. (FYI - my problem started the same day as yours). I have the same daily experience - data gets dumped at midnight - but I have to exit the app, and then restart - comes back at 0 and then updates for just that day - and then I have to do the same thing the next day. So the data is there - the new version of the app just can't read it.

Yep….new Charge 6 and when scrolling through the days I get the data duplicated identically on consecutive days.

Same for my new Charge 6

@davereadscomics So glad to have found another user - and what seems to be several One users - with the exact same issue I'm having. I also have a Fitbit One that has been going strong since 2015. No issues with it until recently but obviously it's not an issue with the tracker but with the app. My One will sync & track daily - I can see the steps for today - but tomorrow, today's steps will be missing. The last day of any recorded steps data on the app for me is also August 26. It looks like I've done nothing in September even though steps record & sync each day.

@DougDohrmann I'm a One user (since 2015 with no issues until this app issue) and was hoping version 4.26 of the app would correct the missing data. I've considered purchasing the Inspire 3 but waiting b/c if my One still works, I want to keep using it, but if the app is the issue, then purchasing and using the Inspire 3 won't help.

Also want to add... While it seems we are all having the same app issue as One users, My One is connected to another site where I'm enrolled in a fitness challenge. Even though the Fitbit app hasn't shown any data since August 27, this site actually synced a few days randomly since then & recorded my distance. So what does that mean? Very strange that this site recorded days that are not showing on the Fitbit app.

I’m connected to Stridekick and since it takes my data from the Fitbit app my steps are not recording accurately.

Yes - not sure if it will help or not.  I bought the Inspire because my One seemed to be having serious battery issues and would just go from 60% to almost dead in the blink of an eye.  Thought it might be dying on me so I wanted to get a backup and Amazon had a deal on it that cropped up so I ordered.  But by the time this issue with syncing came up, my One stopped having the battery issues so I haven't opened the Inspire yet.  I'm not sure if the Inspire is syncing with the app better than the One, but now we're seeing a couple of other FitBit devices mentioned with the same issue, so maybe it's broader than One users...

Thanks for sharing. I’m hoping this gets resolved soon.

I have had the same issue with my Fitbit One.  It hasn't updated in over a month.  I have contacted Fitbit customer service multiple times, and they must have a canned response because I was also told that there was an issue that would be fixed "sometime in the next few weeks".  Well, a "few weeks" have come and gone and still nothing.  They are certainly not very helpful.

Yes I have contacted them multiple times too and was told the same thing. Hopefully it will be fixed soon because it has been over a month!

I realize that this is an IOS platform forum, but just wanted to confirm that the exact same thing is happening with Android.  I have a One and have the latest Android version 4.26.1 installed on my phone.  No history displayed since a few steps on Aug 27.  But the weekly email appears to be correct, so the stats are synching and being saved somewhere.  I really hope that this can be fixed for all of us soon.  I have been a devoted One user for over ten years.

I quite agree.
This needs sorting out soon.
There are many people affected, Fitbit must know about it, why aren’t they correcting the problem?

Yes, that sounds like the exact same problem that I am having. August 26
was the last time I saw any data updates in the app.

Finally see there is an update for the broken Fitbit app. The latest update did not fix the problem with Fitbit One. It may be time to look for a new tracker.  I would choose anything other than a Fitbit or Google product since they have not been able to fix the error they caused over a month ago.

It seems that the app doesn't have access to the dashboard data although the data is still collected and stored.

Anyway, I now updated to v4.28 of the iOS app which is the most recent version and phone is restarted. For now I am now seeing the steps from today, but still no steps from 27 August  (including) to yesterday 14 October (although I know that the data base has records of them, the weekly digest that comes per mail seems to be correct).

Let's see how it behaves in the next days.
