Hi guys, I have just been invited to join Fitbit by my wife who has a Charge. I wear an iwatch so googled it and found a solution to being able to challenge each other BUT.....my data in the Fitbit app doesn’t match the data in my phones Health app. I’ve tried syncing it over and over but nothing changes. Fitbit is logging less than half what my phone has logged for the same day?? I’m on a losing streak!! Heeeelp (bar being told to work twice as hard thank you haha)

I understand that fitbit want only fitbit devices working and not just using there app for free. Can't the make the app for free if you use a fitbit and let other people pay for it (one time only)

I used a Fitbit One for years. Unfortunately, I lost my last One, and Fitbit no longer makes a tracker that is not wrist-based. I love my Apple Watch for all its other functions. I love the Fitbit community - I've made many friends here that I don't have the opportunity for with Apple. So, when I lost my One, I thought just using the Mobile Track would allow me to remain a member of the Fitbit community, but I am having the same problem - Fitbit catches about 70% of the steps that Apple does. When I had both, they were pretty close, so I don't think it is an algorithm problem, it is a problem of where Fitbit is getting its data from Apple.

Not everyone uses Fitbit and not everyone uses Apple so they could be a little better in sharing data. That also encourages us to move a little more.

Hi @Roundy711, @Wheatie13, @jgreico and @Teigertje1. It's great to have you here! @Mike_S, welcome to the Community Forums! I'm sorry for the delay in my response.
@Roundy711 and @Teigertje1, thanks for joining the conversation. The Fitbit app and its features was designed and released for free so everyone can work toward their goals and build healthy habits with their families and friends. Our team keeps working to improve the app, and your comments are truly appreciated.
@Wheatie13, I'm glad to hear that you and your family have been enjoying the challenges feature in the Fitbit app, and I'm sorry that your steps aren't syncing correctly. There are some factors that may affect the amount of steps displayed in your challenge. To investigate, have you manually logged activities through the Fitbit app or by using a third-party app? Also, are all the members in the same time zone? Have you updated the Fitbit app to the latest version?
@Mike_S, thanks for the love towards the Fitbit Community, and I'm glad that it has helped you to make new friends. That's fantastic! I'm sorry that your steps aren't syncing accurately, and let's work on this together. Is the Fitbit app updated to the latest version? Have you also made sure to regularly sync your information in the Fitbit app? I'd also recommend to remove MobileTrack and set it up one more time in your account.
@jgreico, thanks for your question. To setup the MobileTrack back to your Fitbit account, please try the following steps:
- Make sure the Fitbit app is updated to the latest version.
- Open the Fitbit app and tap the Account icon.
- Tap on the option to setup a device.
- Scroll down, tap on "MobileTrack" and follow the onscreen instructions.
I'll be around, keep me posted.

Not sure what else I can do. Sadly left my group I was so tired of getting steps then syncing and loosing 2000-3000 depending on my number of steps for that day. The more steps I get the more I loose.
Thanks for trying

Hi @Wheatie13. Welcome back and thanks for reviewing the information posted above.
By my second question, I meant if you've used a 3rd party to logged activities in the Fitbit app, as that information will not count toward challenges. I see where are you coming from and I'm sorry that you're going through this situation. To continue helping you, please provide me with the following information:
- Your iPhone's model and iOS version.
- Are all the members in the same time zone?
- Verify if the Fitbit app is updated to the 3.0 version.
- Although your steps seem to lose when syncing, may I know if the steps on your dashboard match the ones seeing in your challenge?
I look forward to your reply.

If you design a watch / tracker that doesn’t fall apart after a year then I would gladly use your product again but I had 3 blaze pebbles 3 charge 2’s they aren’t designed to last any longer than a year! But your software is good so you rely on that to keep customers. Sorry just saying how it is! I use an app myfitnesssync to get my steps into your app but the challenges are something else

The irony though is that mobiletrack DOES synch with apple health, just not all the data - I JUST installed the fitbit app for the same reason as others - to compete with a family member who wears one and I wear an apple watch. Never used a fitbit. Immediately, in the fitbit app, I could see historical steps from the last week, only every day was lower numbers than my health app.
Just admit what you are doing - you are deliberately filtering out data coming from the watch so that nobody using a competitor product can participate. It's fine if that's what you are doing, but just own it. Don't say you aren't planning to integrate because you 100% already do.
