Fitbit Update 5/25/2017

Thank you for taking the time to share feedback. I can assure you the comments have been and continued to be reviewed and shared with our iOS team.

As a reminder, I'm including our help article on the Fitbit app here.

Overwhelmingly, recent posts share the sentiment of no longer being able to revert back to the original dashboard and not having the option to choose. At this time there are no plans to revert access to the old Dashboard, but we always appreciate feedback on how to improve our app.

As a reminder, Please remember to keep your posts respectful and on-topic, per our Community Guidelines. This thread will be better for everyone as a constructive conversation.

Fitbit Update 8/17/2016

Beginning with version 2.26 of the Fitbit app for iOS, the new Fitbit app dashboard with an updated look is now fully implemented. You can no longer return to the old design. We're constantly striving to improve Fitbit products and services, and we appreciate all of the feedback we receive from our customers.

You can find information about the new app dashboard and how to start using it by clicking here.

Fitbit Update 5/25/2016

I'm very pleased to announce that iOS users who have updated to version 2.23 of the Fitbit iOS App are now able to opt-in to use a preview of a new design of the Fitbit iOS dashboard!

One of my favorite features for this new dashboard preview is the quick log button in the bottom-center of the iOS App. This feature allows users to quickly: track an exercise, log food, log sleep, log water, send a friend request, scan a food barcode (if you are using the US food database), log their weight, or set an alarm.

Users can opt-in to use the new iOS dashboard design by:

1. Updating to version 2.23 of the Fitbit iOS App, click here to be redirected to the iOS App Store.

2. Click the Account button in the bottom right-hand corner.

3. Scroll down and click the Advanced Settings button.

4. Toggle the Preview New Dashboard button at the top of the page on.

I want the original dashboard back. How many complaints does it take for Fitbit to get it? How quickly their profits will drop as trackers are returned and this large body of enthusiasts finds a better product!

@ Deb I have noticed posts that have been edited "for text" by a moderator.
They are reading just not doing anything. I hope they are not removing any.

I hate the new dashboard. Really hate it. The previous version was much clearer especially on mobile - this one's a mess.

That's just it. Fitbit couldn't care less about we think or want. If they did they would let us have the option of the old dashboard which worked great.

I really liked the old dashboard and am very unhappy that I cannot switch back to it. The new dashboard is cute, but not as user friendly to me. Can the option to go back to the old dashboard please be restored?

the new format IS THE WORST.  I looked forward to my total workouts and heart rate summarized and now i have these lame tiles with useless stats.  thanks for nothing.  i've also uploaded the latest fitbit version and now i don't have an option to even revert back to the original screen.  a big thumbs down.  if the creators were trying to become more intriguing, it's a definite fail.  #fitbit35.5.14sucks

I think the only way to make our frustrations with the new Dashboard and the lack of interest by Fitbit to listen is to give the new UI version one star rating in the App Store and tell everyone why. The Fitbit App has 2 rating buttons. One is for rating the current version (that's the one we hate) the other button is to rate the previous version ( the original UI) The new version has mostly 1 star reviews already but needs more! There is a new Charge HR and a new Flex coming in November and most people look at the App ratings before they buy. One star reviews will get Fitbit's attention.

Thanks, Ted

Does anyone j he how to get back the old dashboard? I don't seem to have the choice to go between the two as I did before. I really hate this new one. 😡

Funny how you say fitbit is interested in feedback. Reviews of current version show otherwise... More 1s than 5s. Lots of people want to be able to choose dashboard style. I'll keep rating the app a 1 until it is at least as good as the old dashboard was. I will continue to recommend others do the same. Appreciate the feedback my foot!

Steel, any "1" ratings given before 8/22 probably don't count anymore, as the version was "updated" again since 8/17. I reposted my "1"rating in the app store,

@Kd5ghj, thanks for the info on their tricky update version. I too will repost 1 star in the app review

Interesting that the post listed are mostly dated two years ago. The customizability of new 2.26.1 top of dashboard does not exist. You can not scroll through sleep data history with out going back one or two screens. I am not a fan .. Two thumbs down on new, improved? Format. I changed layout on win7 but no apparent effect on iPad Mini

I'm so disappointed that I can't change my dashboard back. I never would have updated if I knew I'd not be able to have the old layout anymore. The new one is hard to read. Not cool, Fitbit. 😞

Britto, there is a lot of disappointment with this change. I posted a one star rating in the app store. That may be the only way to get their attention....sadly they must not read the forum.

I've finally figured out where everything is in the new dashboard. I still liked the old one better but maybe these findings will help someone.

1. The tiles can now be rearranged! So now I have the "Weekly Exercise", "Weight" & "Sleep" tiles under the main window that shows steps, floors, mile, cals & minutes. To rearrange, touch "edit" in the upper right corner and while the tiles are "wiggling" move them around as desired.

2. I found where my daily exercise records are hidden. They are under the Weekly Exercise tile. If I tap that I can see the exercise periods I have recorded and can categorize them as before with the old app.

3. The weight tile now shows my goal weight and current weight. The semi-circle has my goal at the bottom of the left end and my current weight at the bottom of the right. It still says "-- lbs lost since Sep 2" (and it's currently 8/26) so that's not helpful. But what I need is there.

4. Syncing is done by pulling down on the window to reveal "looking..", "syncing..." or "connected". This used to be in plain sight at the top. So now I can tell whether my iPad or iPhone has control of the app at any given time. It does seem to sync faster but that may be due to an Apple iOS upgrade.

So, though I like the other dashboard better, now that I've figured out where they "hid" everything, I'm much happier. Of course the most important thing it does is to sync my data to the web since the Charge HR only holds a few days worth of data. This is a huge improvement over my Ultra which required a base station plugged into a PC! The online app using a PC browser still has more functionality if you really want to look over your results.

Barb, the version on my iPad mini has NO "Edit" button at the upper right of the screen! Geoff

Hi topspn,

It's not really a button. It's just the word "Edit" in blue letters on the same line at the top as "fitbit" but over to the right. I just checked my app version (goto the App Store and touch "updates" at the bottom right) and it is 2.26.1 of 8/22/2016. I do have automatic updates turned on but I'm thinking this "Edit" has been there in the new dashboard for quite a while. I just never saw it do anything useful before. I was looking to see if there were some tiles I didn't have yet. And then they all started wiggling and I knew that meant they could be moved around. The PC web app has had this ability to arrange the dashboard for quite some time so I'm glad they added it to the iOS app. I don't have an iPad mini to test this on but it works on my iPad2 and my iPhone6. Let's see if I can insert a screen shot.IMG_1850.PNG

@SmyrnaRetiree your Charge HR as all the Fitbits hold 7 days of detail data and another 23 days of daily summary.. Sync once a week and you will be fine with detals.
