I updated the Fitbit app on my iPhone 14 ProMax today, and noticed there is now only one number for the calories remaining. Previously, the number on the calories tile estimated the amount of calories left for the day which included the projected amount of calorie expenditure one would accrue by the end of the day. After today's update, it appears that the only estimate for calories remaining is the one which does not include this projection. Is there a setting where I can change this, or will there be an additional update that will bring back this feature? Knowing what calories I have remaining is really only useful to me if it gives me an idea of where I will be at the end of the day. Otherwise, I'll have to resort to using my iPad with the previous version as long as I'm able to keep automatic updates from occurring.
Just to note, I do see that there is an illustration that presumably reflects whether you will be over, under or at your calorie goal. However, I am only interested in seeing the exact number of calories, as before.

Hello @SAEManess and welcome to the Community. I moved your post to the iOS forum, a better fit for this issue. I agree with you. This information should be on the Today page, just like the previous version.

I totally agree with you and am very frustrated with this change. I can no longer easily calculate what calorie allowance I have left for my dinner…

I hope we have an answer soon! I used that more than the first food tracker you mentioned.

It’s not 😞 only how many calories we have earned to that point in the day. Not the estimated amount left for the day based on our current rate of burn.

I’ve discovered that you can see this information if you go to the website version. Hopefully it’ll come back to the app soon, but at least there’s the option to look on the website.

Is this something that needs to be fixed by Fitbit? Or has anyone found a solution?

YES!!! This is the most important function of the app when I’m trying to figure out how much I can eat. Two mornings in a row I’ve discovered that I was 100 calories under for the day before even though when I went to bed I had had all that I was allowed. Waiting until midnight to see what I can have for dinner is ridiculous! The old app used to calculate based on expected calorie use for the rest of the day.

@Eelecila This is exactly my problem! I have acid reflux that often necessitates modification to my calorie goals by the end of the day, and I need that exact number when deciding what sort of snack or meal will allow me the most weight loss.

@Boris1234 There is a suggestion in one of the replies to use the FitBit dashboard website, where you can still see the dynamic number for calories remaining on the dashboard tile. I have found this to be true.
There is also a suggestion in another of the replies to vote for and comment on the Product Feedback Forum.

The best feature of the previous app gives you an estimate of calories you have left to consume for the day, considering what you have eaten, your exercise for that day, an estimate of calories you will burn the rest of the day, and your calorie goal that you have set yourself.
That feature is now gone. Now, when I enter having some berries at breakfast, I’m told I’m over my calorie limit for the day, based on my calorie goal.
Completely useless.

Sync from other apps does nit happen automatically with the new update either. Need to click on the 0 calories several times then go back to home screen before it's updated. If not it will say that you ate 0 calories. Since fitbit doesn't have food lists from all countries some of us actually are forced to use other apps for this to count, so the syncing part is also important. I changed to yazio last summer since that was half the cost of myfitnesspal, so would be great if you got this part to work again

You need a laptop for that it's to small to see on a phone.....

They are clearly using a cheaper platform, hence why it's so different and basic. The previous one looked professional, this looks like something from the 90s.
Are there any other apps that show calories remaining in real time (My Fitness Pal?) that we can sync Fitbit with? I chose to continue with Fitbit, rather than Apple, due to this feature.

Thanks for the info. I don’t really think the customers should have to beg Fitbit to give us back a feature that has been standard since I first got a Fitbit. Instead, before removing a standard feature they should canvas users and find out of people are using them. I don’t see any new features in the new layout and definitely don’t see anything that would explain why they had to take info and functionality away. Stop fixing things that are not broken.
