Finally since updating my IOS 12 and no help from fitbits I am receiving notifications & call alerts. I have a fitbits versa. I pressed the side single button down for 30 sec or so. It comes up with screen awake & notification Off, which I turned on. When the software was updated it must have automatically switch off the notification on the watch not app though. Hope this helps and I don’t know why it’s not written anywhere in the troubleshooting Q & A

Hello @TNurseT and @dkuski, thanks for joining the conversation, welcome to the Fitbit Community. It's nice to see you too @Tomasslu and @Tomasslu, I hope you're doing well. Smiley Happy

I appreciate you have taken the time to post your feedback and concerns about this situation. Please note that pressing down the button on the side of the Versa and then swiping to the left, will bring a screen where you can enable or disable Notifications, this has been mentioned several times through this thread. I'm glad this has been helpful for some of you.

@dkuski and @TNurseT, would it be possible for you to let us know exactly which troubleshooting steps have you tried so far? Additionally, the following information will be very helpful as well:

  • iPhone model you're using.
  • Tracker/Watch you're using
  • App version (go to Account > help to get it)
  • Tracker/Watch version (go to Account > your tracker/watch to get it)

Thanks for your patience and understanding, we'll be waiting to hear from you.

No such luck with Blaze. My notification is ON and still no text messages coming through

Absolutely frustrating. I can't see how FitBit is not working on this everyday with Apple (unless Apple trying to avoid them).

I get every other notification except text messages and it really needs to be fixed.

As it is I am not a fan of Apple, due to some phone upgrades it is what I am stuck with and this lack of progress is frustrating. If I worked like this in my business I'd have lost customers (oh wait, you do keep losing customers).

I am on an Iphone 8S, Fitbit Charge 2, using app 2.83(804).
I've tried:
Uninstalling and reinstalling app
Hard reset and soft reset of phone
Plugging fitbit in and holding button for 10-15 seconds
Turning Bluetooth off and on again
It is now to the point that I reinstalled the app and it will not find my fitbit. I've had some spotty issues with receiving texts and calls before, but this is getting beyond frustrating.
My job links to my fitbit through the app and I get credit for steps in the form of insurance discounts...so this could potentially cost me money on top of the frustration.

I have no idea how computer stuff works, but I would expect that 2 companies as large and connected as apple and Fitbit would be able to work together faster than this.
Please either get these issues fixed or offer a massive discount on a new fitbit that will actually connect. Thank you.

As a software engineer by trade and IT Systems Manager, sure I was able to somewhat successfully finagle my Charge 2s to connect to IOS 12 devices. I passed on my success techniques and I know many of you are still struggling. I admit it did take some effort and ongoing reboots of the IOS devices.  This was at best a workaround because there are compatibility differences between older devices and IOS 12's blue tooth implementation.

Bottom line we upgraded to Fitbit Charge 3 - PROBLEM SOLVED.  No kidding instant connection, fast setup and works reliably 24x7. I mean the difference is fantastic, if you like Charge 2 you will simply love Charge 3, the tracker is thinner and the UI is very ergonomic and clean, the band is better and more adjustable, simply put this is the best route if you wish to stick with the Charge line; it truly is an upgrade version of Charge. Heck you can even swim with Charge 3. There are a lot of holiday deals right now online and brick & mortar, take advantage and that can get you back on track. This is also a great time to upgrade to Versa as there are great deals to be had online.

This is all preferable over frustration when all you want is to do is track your fitness regimen.

I appreciate the tip....but spending an additional $150 does not fix the problem. The issue is not in the tracker—it has lasted me quite well and I’m not the type to toss something out because the newest version came out. The issue is in the communication between companies that could abc should have been fixed more rapidly than is being done. There is no reason the charge 2 shouldn’t work if the charge 3 does!!! It’s the same companies!
If the charge 2 is defective and will no longer be able to sync, then a replacement should be offered.

I have continued issues with Charge 3. Notifications will not clear. Emails
from a week ago will suddenly come streaming on to the Charge 3( at least
twice a day)..some notifications never appear.

Charge 3 is not the answer.

Can you please give us a timeline of when we should expect things to finally be resolved? I planned on getting each of my kids Fitbit’s for Christmas, but can not justify spending the money on something that doesn’t work the way it should. We’re all just looking for communication. Are you thinking days? Weeks? Months?? Please give us some indication on what we should expect.
Thank you.

> I am ready to give up. I have not had use of my Fitbit for almost two months. So sad for major company , like Fitbit not to at least communicate , much less take so long to fix problem. I get plenty of request to buy a new Fitbit so they know who owns their products

I got the Charge 3 and tried everything over the phone with a rep to get it to work. I was told after everything that it's the update that's doing it and your working on it. My husband got a Charge 3 for Black Friday, he'd already done the update on his phone and he hasn't had any issues at all.  If the bug isn't fixed, can I exchange for a new one? My charge was only 2.5 months old and haven't been able to get notifications for 4 weeks of that.
