Fitbit Update 5/22/2019:
Hey all,
Today we've released the latest Fitbit for iOS app version 2.94. In this new app version, we've temporarily disabled this notification "Open Fitbit to keep your data synchronized." We will continue to assess all the user feedback and work to improve this experience.
Please update the Fitbit app if you haven't yet. I'm now closing this thread from further comments. Thanks again for all your feedback!

Fitbit Update 4/18/2019:
I've merged a few threads together. Receiving the notification "Open Fitbit to keep your data synchronized" after closing out of the Fitbit app is expected behavior. The Fitbit app needs to run in the background in order to enable features like all-day sync and notifications. If you are double tapping the home button, or swiping up into multi-tasking, and then swiping to close the app, you should see this message.
I appreciate your feedback and have passed it on to the team. I hear that you are unhappy with this notification. Our team is aware, but may not be able to provide a fix in the immediate future.
We'll continue to monitor the situation, and keep our team informed of the impact to you and other customers. We understand that this isn't the resolution you're hoping for, but rest assured we're always working to improve our products. We're sorry for any trouble.

Same issue here...…...just started today for me and hasn't gone away yet. I've also noticed my notifications coming through to my watch are very hit or miss today. One text will notify me, and the next it wont......Fibit please fix this asap!! Super frustrating!

Hi Everyone - Are you force closing the app or is the app running in the background. It's expected behavior to receive this notification if you close the app in the background because it breaks all day sync and notifications.
Are you seeing this notification when the app is running in the background?

My charge 3 is set to ‘all day sync’, yet for the last 2 days I get many many push notices to open my app to sync data. Anyone else getting this? (iPhone app and up to date)

After syncing to, and closing, app, I get a notification suggesting I sync to my app. Happens every time. How can I prevent this? I think it’s with a very recent build of the app.

Exactly as Sara and others said. Doing nothing different at all and notifications come on after using the app with a loud annoying alert.

I’m closing the app after checking it, like I have done for the last two years, but this is the first time this alert/notification has ever popped up. And it happens every single time after I close it now. Please make it stop!

I had the exact same issue as you. I ended up turning off all notifications because I was tired of it. Not ideal, but I prefer that to a constant "Hey don't close me!" pop up.
