Hi everyone.

Let me immediately say "what .a big frustration"!

Just got the Fitbit Versa. It is my first Fitbit product.

Well....completely unable to pair it with my iPhone 7 (iOS 11.3 installed).

I checked my bluetooth and it works fine with other devices that I try to pair.

I am waiting a lot of time but the phone does not see the watch.

Please, an help would be highly appreciated before giving it back and buy an Apple watch.

Thanks. Bye

Hi, @FedericoFit. How frustrating for you! Let me give you a couple things to try. BTW, good job of providing all that detail (phone model, IOS version, etc.) It’s a big help!

  1. On your iPhone, check Settings —> Bluetooth. If you see your Versa listed, Forget it.
  2. Still on your iPhone, if the Fitbit app is installed, delete it.
  3. Now, go into a room that has no other bluetooth devices in it. (Speakers, other Fitbit devices, Alexa devices, etc.) Bring your iPhone and Versa with you.
  4. Download the Fitbit app from the App Store. Follow the instructions to set up the Versa again.

Hopefully, this will work. Sometimes it’s a matter of doing everything in the right order. And sometimes it can get confused with other Bluetooth devices in the area. If this does not help, tap here for more troubleshooting tips.

Please let us know if you got everything working.

Hi Carol, I followed your instructions step-by-step and...it works!

I deleted the app on the iPhone and re-installed it.

I think Fitbit should work on improving the app, but for the time being this is the solution.

Thanks a lot!

What do you mean by, “forget it.”

I've spent about 4 hours disconnecting and reconnecting my versa from my iPhone X and my Lenovo Yoga laptop figuring out how to transfer music from my ITunes and whatever.. After being told to "forget" my versa from the Bluetooth list on my phone to help connect it to my laptop, it's taken me a considerable amount of time to figure out how to reconnect it to my phone.. Just before I gave up however I read this and it worked and took no longer than 5 minutes to do.. Thanks for the help !

Hello @sarajameson96, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board! It's great to see you as well @Ginnyo and @1012Smiley Happy

I appreciate you have taken the time your issue has now been resolved @sarajameson96, I'm very glad.

@1012 and @Ginnyo, if you're still having trouble setting up your Fitbit Versa, I would like to suggest you the following:

  1. Turn off Bluetooth on your phone; wait 10 seconds, and then turn it back on.
  2. Make sure you have a strong WiFi signal and that there are no other Bluetooth devices around that might interfere with the setup process.
  3. Restart your Versa by pressing and holding the Back and Select buttons (left and bottom right) until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen, then try to set up again.
  4. If you can't set up after a restart, reboot your phone or tablet and try to set up again.
  5. If you can't set up after the reboot, remove all other Fitbit devices from your account and from the list of connected Bluetooth devices on your phone or tablet and try to set up the Versa one more time.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

Hello @Najia, thanks for joining the conversation, it's always nice to say hello to new members of the Community! Smiley Happy

Thanks for your question. Please note that the information you sync form a Fitbit device gets stored in our servers and not your phone, that means you can delete the app and reinstall it without losing information, simply log in to your account and you will be able to see all your information. Please make sure to sync your tracker or watch one last time before uninstalling the app.

I hope this resolves your inquiry, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

You lose all unsynced data when you do this? Why have a fitness watch if it won't sync my data and then I lose it when I have to fix the mistake fitbit made by releasing a product that doesn't work at all with their own app?

I’m not sure what to do now. My new iphone SE still won’t find the Fitbit Versa.

*Some background, everything was going well till now. My Versa was being used on the old iPhone 5 with no issues

I have a new iphone SE purchased 3 weeks ago which replaced an old iPhone 5.

At first the Versa paired to the new phone and all was good.

But I kept getting messages that my iCloud storage was full and my phone could not be backed up.

When I looked into this I discovered that I still had my old iPhone 5 taking up storage on the icloud as well as my new iPhone and an iPad. I removed the iPhone 5 from there and that solved the storage problem and the new phone was backed up for the first time.

I am sure that since that time, 4 days ago, my Fitbit Versa has not synced.

i discovered that today.

I have since looked at many forums on Fitbit and Apple and ended up removing  the Fitbit app and then reinstalled it a few times with no success.

My iPad updated correctly by the way as it is still synced and when I reinstalled the app on the iPhone the stats for the last 4 days were now there but, it still isn’t syncing on the phone - the app is looking but cannot find the Versa.

i am wondering what else I may have to check. Could something have happened with the ‘forgetting of the iPhone 5’ from the cloud storage - that’s when it all seemed to happen. Not sure why it would affect the iPhone SE.

i have paired my Bose mini  soundlink device to the new iPhone SE so I know the Bluetooth is working fine on the iPhone. It must be something I have done but I just can’t work out what.

I’d Appreciate any ideas!

I’ve been struggling all day with this and getting nowhere.

I also had a long frustrating install and pairing with my new Fitbit Versa and iPhone 7.  Even though I had turned off all bluetooth devices, I solved it by just taking everything into another part of the house and it worked fine.

Thanks for your reply.
After a week or two of frustration with this, it turned out to be something so simple.
So just in case anyone else has this issue they may read this and be helped.
I discovered that it is not possible to pair your Fitbit Versa with an Apple iPad and a phone at the same time.
All I did was the turn Bluetooth OFF in Settings on my iPad (for some reason it was on - generally I don’t have it turned on in the iPad as I use my iPhone for connecting via Bluetooth to the home/car audio).
As soon as I turned off Bluetooth on the iPad, the Fitbit Versa connected easily and finally my issue was SOLVED!!!

Hi Nghazaly,

i am not sure what a the cause of your problem. It is very frustrating - I struggled for weeks trying to solve my problem. Then finally I solved it.

During my struggle, I deleted the Fitbit app and downloaded a new one, I reset the Fitbit a number of times, I powered off my iPhone and powered it on again - all sorts of things.

i couldn’t work out why my Fitbit was syncing with my iPad but would not sync with my new iPhone.

Just make sure your Fitbit is not syncing with your iPad (if you have one) - if it is synced to your iPad, turn off Bluetooth in SETTINGS in your iPad.

My Fitbit synced with my iPad the moment I removed my old iPhone 5 from my iCloud. It must have just immediately connected to the iPad. Anyway it turns out there was nothing wrong with my new iPhone, Fitbit app - it would not sync because it was syncing with my iPad and apparently it CANNOT connect to both devices on one account.

keep reading all the posts - that’s how I ended up working it out.

hope you work it out soon

Toni

Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well! Smiley Happy

@Tonib1 and @MrsMudpie, I appreciate you have taken the time to let us know your issue has now been resolved and the steps you followed to fix it. I'm sure they will be very helpful for many members facing the same situation.

@Tdeegz, please note that as mentioned before your Fitbit device can store up to 7 days of detailed information and 30 days of detailed information. Syncing your tracker before uninstalling the app is a suggested step, your Fitbit device will not lose the information that hasn't been synced if you uninstall and reinstall the app.

@nghazaly, if your Versa is not syncing with your Fitbit device, please try the following steps:

  • Make sure the latest version of the Fitbit app is installed on your phone.
  • The software on your mobile device is up to date. To check, tap Settings > General > Software Update.
  • Make sure there are no other Bluetooth devices around as they might interfere with the syncing process
  • Check that your Fitbit device's battery isn't critically low.

If your device still won't sync, try these steps:

  1. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  2. Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off and back on.
  3. Open the Fitbit app.
  4. If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart your phone again.
  5. Open the Fitbit app.
  6. If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart it one more time.
  7. If your Fitbit device won't sync after the restart, log in to your Fitbit account on a different phone, tablet, or computer and try to sync.
  8. If your Fitbit device still doesn’t sync, remove all other Fitbit devices from your account and from the list of connected Bluetooth devices on your mobile device and try to sync.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

I have an Iphone 6s. Latest IOS. I upgraded from Charge to Versa but I just couldn’t get any notifications in my new Versa. Try restarting my Iphone, disconnecting my Bluetooth devices even re- installing my Fitbit app. Just when I thought I tried everything I came across your suggestion about rebooting my Versa and it worked!!!! Very happy
