Why are the sleep scores and data displayed differently? I assume it’s the new ios update, but I preferred the former presentation.
Moderator Edit: Clarified subject
Must add my voice to this chorus of protests. The new sleep reports are hideous. What in the world was the purpose of this change? If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Please bring back the old ones.
There is understandable concern about an unrequested UI change that is getting impassioned negative feedback.
But there is also a functionality setback: the app doesn't concatenate sleep phases any more.
I am a biphasic sleeper. I go to bed in the 10.30 to 11.00 zone, and do my deep sleep then, waking up between 3.30 and 4. I get up to do relaxing activities with possibly an ambient soundscape to keep me sleepy. I go back to bed an hour later and sleep for another hour and a half, which is where the REM sleep happens. I normally get good and sometimes excellent ratings.
After the upgrade, the app only registers the first phase (telling me that it's reporting "the longer of my two phases", gee thanks). There is no info on the second phase.
Now all my sleep scores are rubbish. I am not happy with this upgrade.
Excellent comment. I hope the depth of feeling and the articulacy of its expression convinces Fitbit that they will hemorrhage great, committed users with long track records if they do not back-grade from this awful UI change.
I encourage everyone who is angry about this to vote and comment. I got the software update when I bought the Charge 6 (3rd one) to replace my Charge 5 which died when it got wet (not supposed to happen) but I foolishly tossed the packaging. In retrospect, I should have returned it to Amazon, cancelled my premium membership, and bought an Apple Watch.
I agree with your comments. I sought out this user community to see if there were complaints. I wish there was a way to opt into the "classic" display the way other software programs do. I also may very well shop for another sleep tracker.
Well that is unfortunate as I for one will never buy another Fitbit and have had one since its inception! Whoever designed these changes should be fired in my opinion! They are not an upgrade but a downgrade and it seems to me that many in the community hate it and my guess is that many others don’t have a clue how to make their voice heard. I am very serious when I say I expect you will see a difference in Fitbit sales going forward. I was a very strong supporter of the Fitbit watch, but will make sure to tell everybody I know NOT to get one in the future. Everything I have is APPLE except for my Fitbit watch, but I am most definitely going to change that!
How does this link with being customer-centric?. I think if you'd asked your users first you wouldn't have made the changes. The new charts are much more difficult to read at a glance
I agree 100%. Can Fitbit tell us how many customers they spoke to, how many customer surveys they carried out and how many focus groups were involved that actually approved the redesign. It's awful. Customers are obviously secondary
New sleep graph is terrible. The old one wasn’t great, but the update is worse. It fails at the most basic function of being a graph. Where have the time markers gone on the bottom?? I have no idea of when most of the events happened. Personally, I wanted to try and correlate events to other factors in my body/environment to build a picture of what effects my sleep. The old chart wasn’t great, but I could just about see when things were happening. Now I have no clue.
Undo undo undo. Fit bit is just a watch to me now.
Just chiming in to say I completely agree. I am SO disappointed!! If I had the money now, I would be switching to a new watch! No more Fitbit! I have been using Fitbit for 10 years! On my 3rd watch and unfortunately sounds like it will be the last!
