Share icon disappeared from Today tab

Using app on iPhone normally until today.

Usually grab a snapshot of the days activities using the Share icon top right of the Today screen.

That icon has now disappeared.

My partners iPhone still shows it and it's functional.

What's going on, any suggestions anyone?

Have reset the phone but still same.

Thanks.

Yes this does work but only for the day in question so you can’t do for example the day before ☹️

I have done all of these steps and still no share icon appears. Now what?

Best Answer

Smacks of incompetence and my enquiries were responded to with the spin that it’s a design feature!

Then please put share button back and fix my feed so I can see all my posts from last two years. That would be helpful!!

Thank you so much.  Why couldn't Fitbit just explain this?  At least I can still share 🥰

But you can’t do anything if you don’t do it on the day, it’s not a like for like functionally 😕

Yes, I think it's ridiculous that they have removed a working feature and the best they can do is talk about how everybody might have a different version. It's a poor cobbled together response!

Yes initially the response I had was that it’s being removed was a design feature! How ridiculous is that! As yet they didn’t “improve” the app version which runs on my Samsung device so each day I transfer my chosen picture to there, create my dashboard snapshot and transfer back again. I’m really looking forward to the next design update to see what other features I use every day  just disappear! ☹️

Where is the share button coming back?

Best Answer

Are you really employed by Fitbit? We need you to escalate this problem. Why did the app get rid of the share button? Many of us are experiencing this problem on iOS and Android. The solutions you offer do not work. This is so serious I am considering getting a fitness tracker from a different brand. Sharing my steps everyday on instagram keeps me motivated.

The don’t care, there is no customer support

After Google acquired Fitbit it seemed as if they replaced or educated the tech-challenged Fitbit IT and app teams because things got better. But maybe not — this is the  same kind of “we’ll treat different users differently whenever we like for no reason” scenario we had all the time from Fitbit pre-acquisition.

Disappointing.

This isn't a problem with the phone and app it's a deliberate design change by FitBit to delete existing functionality...

iPhone, yes on the FitBit app, nothing to do with the phone, apparently FitBit designed the functionality that all these users were making use of out of the app, ridiculous I know!

Update:

This doesn't work, we've told you time and time again!

So now the only way had to still do the dashboard snapshot overlaying my daily picture has now been removed from the 3rd of the mobile devices I have access to, what on earth is going on with you FitBit, what a complete mess you've made of the app, since I first raised this problem occurring on my iPhone you then also messed with the iPad app functionality and my only avenue to keep on taking my daily screenshots was the Samsung work phone I have, now this evening I noticed that functionality has also disappeared... and no there's no alternative to do this... I'm definitely not ever going to buy a FitBit device again that's for sure...

As you have noticed, It looks like you're using a new feature that we're trying out. Your Fitbit app may look different from your friend's. We're always looking to improve our products, so if the design we're testing is successful, you may see elements of it in a future version of the app.

Removing the sharing option was not an improvement, it’s a reflection of deterioration of the company. Hardware and Software.

Will never again buy their products.

Yes this is a solution for on the day but if you're wanting to capture or share that data on the next day it's not possible...
