Steps not syncing for challenges.

I noticed this past week that not all of my steps are syncing for challenges. For example today I walked over 20k steps and it only shows 15k on my challenge.

Hi @Bmckee very welcome to the Community! Smiley LOL Let me know if you are logging activities or activities tracked through third-party apps, because at this time only steps from your tracker count toward the challenge. I recommend to don't log any activity in order to have the correct amount of steps on your challenge.

I hope this information helps you, I'll be around if you have any other question! Smiley Wink

I started noticing the same problem around the time Bmckee posted. The challenges aren't counting all my steps tracked (not logged) through the Fitbit app. I am wearing my Fitbit through the workout, and while the count on my Fitbit matches the one on my dashboard, the total on the challenge is about 5k steps short. It's not like it's cutting out the entire workout (that was about 16k steps).

I've been using the new "track exercise" function since late December, but only noticed the step shortchanging in challenges within the past week, and I'm not sure it ALWAYS does it.

My battery had died this morning without any indication and once I was exercising, I noticed it wasn't working.  So a friend of mine had suggested logging it in manually but my steps doesn't transfer over to the challenge that my friends and I are currently doing.  I did read up on this and it said that the steps doesn't transfer over to the challenges, but is there a way to fix this.  I want it show that I actually did my steps this morning and am keeping up with the group.  Is this any way to correct this so it shows up in the challenges???

Thanks,

@RCLewis411 Do you wear your tracker while you use your phone's GPS to track your exercise? If you wear your tracker while you use your phone's GPS to track your exercise, steps from your workout will count towards badges, Challenges, and your 7 day leaderboard. Click here for more information about how it works.

@saborowski15 Manually logged exercises will be included on your personal dashboard, but manually logged workouts do not count towards Challenges at this time, only tracker data does.   Click here for more information about how Challenges work.

I have the same problem, my HR and the app both show the same number of steps but the last few days the challenges show way less steps, even the ones in the same time zone. My weekend challenges showed less about 1/3 the steps that I took over the entire weekend.

Hi @manxtales,

This sounds like it might be related to some kind of syncing issue, I'd recommend the following:

1. Restart your tracker.

2. Reboot your iOS device.

3. Turn off your iOS device's Bluetooth for 10 seconds and then turn it back on.

4. Use the replacement setup workflow to repair your tracker to your account. Click here for instructions.

This should help you out!
