We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

That solution has been thrown out all over this forum. If you read the comments, it's clear that is not the solution for many of us. It's clearly an issue on your end... again🙄

I have tried all the possible things and I am getting nothing on fitbit.  I am guessing they haven't figured out the problem yet.  Do we have any possible ETA for this fix

For those still experiencing notification issues under iOS 13, keep an eye on the main thread for the issue where fitbit are making updates:

Not much point in doing that because it doesn’t work. It hasn’t for me.

Hello,

Every day my charge 3 will randomly stop receiving notifications. I have owned it now for a week and it has happened everyday so far. I have to go to my Iphone X, IOS 13 bluetooth settings, turn it off, then back on. That normally solves the problem and my charge 3 will continue receiving notifications. I can't imagine this is normal to have to do this daily, and I am hoping for some help that this is a quick fix.

Thanks,

Steve

I have the Fitbit Charge 2 HR.  The following steps solved my issue:

1.  Sync your device to ensure no loss of data.
2.  In the Fitbit app, select Remove this Device.
3.  Uninstall the Fitbit App.

4.  In Bluetooth settings, select Forget This Device.
5.  Install the Fitbit app.

6.  Place your Charge 2 HR in the charging cable.
7.  Open the Fitbit app and choose Set Up Device.
8.  Press and hold the button on your Charge 2 HR until it resets.
9.  Enter the 4 digit pairing number shown on your Charge 2 HR screen.
10.  Follow the steps in the Fitbit app to finish setting up your device.
11.  On your iPhone, go to Settings, then Notifications. Make sure Show Previews is set to Always.
12.  Scroll down to the Fitbit app. Make sure Show Previews is set to Always and Notification Grouping is set to Automatic.
13.  On your Charge 2 HR, make sure notifications is set to On.
14.  Send a test text message.  You should now get a notification on your Charge 2 HR.

I know this is a lengthy solution but it worked for me when all other solutions had failed.   I hope it works for you as well!

Hi Everyone...

After updating my iPhone to iOS 13, my Fitbit Alta has stopped notifying me of text messages/phone calls.  I've tried restarting the fitbit several times.  I've turned the bluetooth setting on my phone off and on.  All of the appropriate notification settings and needed permissions are set to what they should be.  In fact, when I set an alarm on my fitbit, the fitbit will vibrate at the designated time.  I wonder if its the software update that is causing the problem.  Anyone else experience the same problem when they updated to iOS 13, and how did you resolve the issue?

Thanks,

Ron

Hello @Dale12

if I’m reading your post correctly it sounds like you were having trouble receiving notifications after a new iOS update but after you called Fitbit Customer Service they walked you through some steps that fixed your notifications issue. Was that new update the iOS 13? If it was and you can remember some of the steps you received from Fitbit because you would be of great help to others. If your interested come back to the Fitbit Community and under the iOS  thread at the very top you will see lots of individuals that are seeking help with this same issue. You might consider posting in that thread what you learned. It will indeed help others. Happy Stepping and I’m happy you no longer have a notification issue 😃
