We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

Thank you!  this works, only I wish Fitbit would fix it back to the way it was.  I don’t like having my messages appear when the phone is unlocked.  I don’t understand why they would change it in the first place 😢

I just purchased the iPhone 11. I have all the settings turned on and updated. No notifications are working, except calendar notifications. Hoping it will be resolved quickly.

I was having the same issue with my Inspire HR, I read to turn off my Bluetooth. It worked. Hope this is helpful to you.

this helped but I dont like it... looks to me like an apple problem?

I had and want no preview of messages on phone but yes on watch. by having messages preview set to never, before IOS 13, still allowed it to your fitbit.

Following 5 & 7 worked to enable on watch but now whoever picks up my phone can see the incoming text preview.

Apple needs to allow previews of messages to come through fitbit even when the IOS' setting for >notifications>messages>show previews is set to 'never' like it was prior to IOS 13.

For now I will have to be satisfied with having this set to 'when unlocked'

Please follow the steps here (essentially ensuring bluetooth sharing is turned on for your fitbit)

Yeah, I know I updated 13.1 yesterday and still nothing! This is ridiculous!

I noticed that too :(. Unfortunately I just did the update to keep the phone running properly. Definitely seems like a Fitbit issue as I saw some others with android were having the same frustrations and difficulty! Hopefully they will fix it all around!

I’m guessing an update by Fitbit will be needed to fix this. I don’t think apple cares about whether our Fitbit notifications work. If anything they’re happy because more people will probably buy an Iwatch now.

I really hope they make a fix soon though. I’ve been using my blaze for over 2 years with barely any issues. I love getting my text and call notifications through my watch rather than having my phone go off in my pocket. Please fix soon!!
