We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

I was hoping after the iOS 13.1 update it would help resolve the issue, like many of the others iOS 13, but my Ionic is still unable to receive text messages. Like most people here I am also in the boat where I prefer my text message previews cannot be viewed on the locked screen. Hope this does get resolved in an update to the Fitbit app as I do like my Ionic as a fitness tracker.

Exactly the same problem. Nothing fixes it.

This happens with FitBit devices anytime iOS pushes an update. Happened last time prior to 13.1, no surprise at all.

FitBit will tell everyone the "fix" is the standard settings, which everyone has turned on already.

When iOS12 was pushed it took FitBit about 3/4 months to fix it so don't rely on your FitBit to let you know if you have a text. You will get call notifications but no text's. It is super annoying. Enjoy.

Wow really 3/4 months before a fix! and this has happened before in another update?  It must have not affected me.  This must be some weird experiment lol Very disappointed and let down that Fitbit is not up to par and keeping up.  People depend and should depend on basic functioning.  Fitbit can't provide a basic function then suddenly and randomly not make it available anymore to certain people!  I am so done with Fitbit and will search for another reliable fitness watch, probably have to get an Apple Watch. Also I will be contacting Fitbit to return my watch and/or my credit card company that I used to pay for it.  I don't have time for this constant daily checking to see if Fitbit has fixed the text issue, nor do I have time for this unnecessary stress.

I guess I am just one of the lucky ones where this does not work. Shows
my Bluetooth is connected but for some reason keeps coming back that
Bluetooth is not registered.

1. Remove the device from your app
2. Turn on and off your Bluetooth on the phone
3. Add your versa back
4. Make sure that bluetooth sharing is enabled (by clicking on the "i" next
to your versa in the bluetooth devices on your phone).

Hope this works for you.

I’ve never had an issue with any iOS updates but I’ve only been using it for about a year. I had a 6S before that worked like a charm.

I have a Google Pixel 2XL and ever since the Fitbit update, I'm not getting all of my notifications.  I don't think this is just an Apple issue...I think it is a Fitbit issue.  Can you advise?

I’m still getting call and text notifications on my Ionic after the ios13 update, but i’m no longer able to sync my watch with the fitbit app. AT ALL. I’ve tried disconnecting and reconnecting to bluetooth and nothing is working! My last auto sync was 9/21/19, about 10 minutes before i downloaded the new apple update. 🙄

I did not update my phone to iOS 13and still notifications for phone or text messages stopped working for the last week.

Please solve this issue as I usually keep my phone on silent mode and rely on Fitbit for notifications.

thank you.

My Fitbit won’t sync and my iPhone says cannot find device, followed all the steps and nothing happens

Tried all these steps. When I open the app, it says to turn on Bluetooth -- which is already on. Yet another example of Fitbit problems. This is why people buy Apple watch.

Called Fitbit and they took me thru all the steps in this thread which I have already tried.
Bottom line they are looking into it.  I even did a factory  reset against my better judgement.  Nothing works.  Getting notifications and calls, just no text messages.

I have tried all the steps to try and correct the black screen issue and nothing seems to work. It vibrates on the watch and records on the iPhone but the screen will not work at all. I need. Refund or Brand New fitbit 3 mine was a special edition too

I went through all the steps and even tried resetting my Fitbit device. Still the app says “turn on Bluetooth. The device itself is recording steps etc. BUT it won’t sync with the app, so I can’t track exercise, sleep, etc.

I did everything as suggested and still does not get notifications.  Only phone calls are coming through.  This is very frustrating since I rely heavily on my watch!
