We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:
1. GET UP-TO-DATE
- Update the Fitbit app.
- Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.
2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS
- Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
- Tap the information icon
- Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
- Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
- Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
- Tap the information icon
- Turn on Share System Notifications.
3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS
- Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
- Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
- Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App | Settings |
---|---|
Calendar |
|
Messages |
|
Phone |
|
All other apps |
|
4. RESTART YOUR PHONE
For instructions, see the Apple help article.
If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

I HATE that I have to have my phone show text messages in order to get notifications on my BRAND NEW ionic. I am very private and this makes me extremely anxious.
I also hate that I have to restart and resync my ionic EVERY SINGLE MORNING to get notifications back. This is complete bull that all you tech people have been allegedly working on this issue for weeks and don’t have a solution?? What are y’all doing up there?? Never had this issue with my blaze.
and none of my friends have this issue with their Apple Watch.

I had this yesterday all afternoon, I followed one of the step by steps and did get it working. The only thing I hadn't tried was turning my text message notification (settings/notification/messages) to Preview "always". I don't love this, I don't like getting the text preview on my screen, but it is working now. I hope they get an update on the app soon to not require the preview.

I’ve tried all of this and nothing has worked. So frustrated. Any word on when/if this issue can be fixed? Hate to say it, but seriously thinking of selling my Versa (which I have loved so far) and buying an Apple Watch. 😥

When I updated my phone to 13.1.1, the phone cannot even find my Versa lite, so these instructions are useless. IPAD at 12.4.1 is still working. IPAD finds versa and HR, phone cannot find either one. Have deleted, restarted, everything with not luck.

Go to your Bluetooth settings on your phone. When you see all the devices you have connected by Bluetooth the i should be next to your fitbit device.

I have tried every recommendation for resetting, uninstalling, reinstalling, deleting.... Ios13 is updated as of this morning and still no link between the Versa and iPhone. I deleted the Versa from my Bluetooth list, now the phone can’t find it. I could scream. I hope to see a resolution soon.

These steps don't seem to work at all! While I can finally get my fitbit to sync with the app, I'm not getting notifications on my fitbit for messages, calendar, or phone. Please work on a fix as soon as possible! I love my Versa, and want everything to work as it was!

I did all of this several times and still not working. Do you know when the issue will be resolved? I can't get text messages notifications and that is one of the key components I use on my watch.

Hello, and thanks for your try, to make things work.
After doing all of what you told us to do, there is no solution. We still do not get notifications on the new IOS from apple.
Looking forward to your update, since my Charge 3 now is rendered useless.

I have a charge 3. Bluetooth sync problem esp after driving.. Have reset. Sleep function keeps turning off. Have reset . Very frustrating indeed as major function I need. Assume one should be able to have seamless access to data without constantly resetting device..

There is no functional notification after the IOS 13 update. The Fitbit Charge 3, has lost contact with my Iphone.
Fitbit needs to come up with an update. No issued proposed solutions work.
Again..
