We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

I went to return mine to the store I purchased it from in July & missed the 30 days by a few.

I had the HR 1 & 2 only had issues with band (hard on them) never took them off.

I can even find words for the disappointment I feel

Hi @Lunar_Jetman, it's nice to see you again participating here in the Community Forums, welcome back!

I appreciate all the information and details that were shared in your post. To better assist you with this, can you please let me know if you experienced this situation after updating the Fitbit app or after the iOS 13 update? How many times you experienced this? Are you having difficulties with text and calendar notifications too?

If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check: How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device? to see that all the necessary requirements to receive notifications on your Blaze are correctly configured and then re-setup the notifications feature. After doing so, please try the troubleshooting steps that are specified on: My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone and let me know how it goes.

Keep me posted and let me know if you have any additional questions.

This sucks! Before the upgrade I could set show previews to never and I got notifications. Now in order to get notifications I have to set it to Show Previews Always or When Unlocked - this is a BIG privacy issue to me and as soon as I am able I’m going to lose the fitbit and buy an Apple Watch... unless fitbit gets their act together quickly and starts taking privacy seriously...

I backup all of my Apple products with no problems - what backup issues are you referring to? Also if you won’t buy Apple or Microsoft what do you use? Google? maybe that works if you aren’t a power user but I can tell you from experience that google sheets and docs suck compared to Microsoft products if you are a power user (macros, complicated and large spreadsheets, etc...)

Fitbit Charge 2. After IOS 13.1.2 update I cannot sync from Fitbit to my iPad. Keeps on asking me to connect to Bluetooth (which is showing that I’m connected). I’ve followed your instructions update to turn off/on etc, plus all the other options you have indicated we should do, but to no avail. Still showing as connected to Bluetooth but my sync option is still asking me to connect.
what suggestions do you have to remedy situation please?

Hi @RicardoFitbit, thanks for the reply. This has happened since I updated to iOS 13 and has happened ever time I’ve taken a call since. I’ve not seen any other strange behaviour with text alerts, etc.

Just to clarify, I am receiving alerts and notifications as I did before iOS 13, I just have the issues previously reported.

I have done everything: restarting de fitbit, reinstalling the App, activate all notifications... The thing is that I do receive notification but only the calendar ones! This issue started when updating to IOS13.2

I have ALL notificiations activated but it only seems to work with the calendar ones. I have done the " on and off phone" thing.

Any ideas?

Don’t get excited if you get a fitbit update.  Got one this morning and it didn’t fix the problem.  So I shut down the watch and removed and reconnected Bluetooth.  Now having the previews on doesn’t work either.  I’m so done.  This is infuriating!!
