We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

I have tried everything you have suggested and more several times over.  My Fitibit Alta will not get text notifications or from the calendar, however it will vibrate for calls. I am beyond frustrated as I keep my phone volume off so it's not making noise when I am in and out of the doctor's office etc.  Help.

The most frustrating thing is I JUST got a fitbit ( my very first one) not even 2 weeks and thought how convenient the notifications were and a fee days later text notifications gone and the problem still hasn’t bern resolved. How does it take software engineers/ developers this long to fix? Very poor customer service

Yes it is very frustrating when I depend it on keeping my phone volume off all the time. I plan to get a new one on black Friday. My husband as the Charge 3 and he is having no problems. I got the new iphone and it all broke loose. My old iphone 6 the fitbit worked great.

I have the new iphone 11 so that is the IOS I think I have to keep. I am sure they will get this fixed in time but until then it's a pain for sure.

Except that many of us are just looking for what was promised when we
bought it. Fitbit have these forums so they can get feedback from the
customers- otherwise how will they ever improve? It is a free market, and
if they don’t deliver, then that’s exactly what will happen.

Where do you turn on text message previews on Fitbit Versa. This is ridiculous. I’m already on my second Fitbit because the first one quit working after only a few months

Used to love my Versa.  Now, not so much.  And that makes me sad.

I am on iOS 13.1.2, I did all of the recommended steps and more, MULTIPLE times.  But I am still not getting text messages on my iPhone Xr running iOS 13.1.2.  Everything else syncs, Versa even displays when I am making a phone call - this is a new one to me, but why do I need that?

Anyway, I am beside myself as I used to really rely on the text message notification function on Versa.

Well!  Looks like I am off to purchase an iWatch.  Who needs this dysfunction anymore?

Goodbye fitbit.  It was nice while it lasted...

The Apple Watch is good except it doesn’t vibrate as strong as the Fitbit does. I’m debating about going back to Verizon and exchanging for the Fitbit versa

*Sigh* found my fix... so I went to settings, notifications, messages and I have never displayed messages on my phone, just the name of who sends the message, I changed it from never to always and what do you know, my Fitbit buzzed with a message. 😑 I hate that I have to have my messages on my phone display to get my Fitbit to work, it wasn’t like that before...

Thanks for this.  Still didn't work for me.  But I toggled EVERYTHING on.  Now it is working.  Now, I begin the long process of systematically toggling things off and seeing if it still works.  Really should not be this hard.  Should be plug n play.  Will be looking at iWatch purchase in very near future.  Not a happy camper...  Best, MD

all of that is on on mind and no go. I have uninstalled the app, the fitbit, blue tooth off, on, phone off, on you name it and nothing. I am beyond frustrated.
