We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

Or it’s a pain just deactivate Face ID so when you look at your phone to see missed calls, texts etc.  nothing previews.

This is the same problem I am having.  Tried all other "fix" options and this one (no "shared notifications" to click on.  Then followed the directions for if that happened - still nothing).  I would love to upgrade my Blaze to a newer Fitbit, but I am not putting any more money in until there is a fix for this.  If that is not in a timely manner, I will have to find a different company to buy my next watch from.  Sad, but I rely on my watch notifications too much to wait too long.

I stopped receiving text message notifications, and I updated my iPhone 7 today. I’ve toggled Bluetooth, uninstalled & reinstalled Fitbit app, uninstalled & reinstalled my Blaze, toggled notifications, turned off and on my phone and my blaze.  Seems like I’ve done everything. Any other suggestions?

I tried allll of the tips below and my versa still isn’t receiving any notifications.

I got mine to work by following these instructions

  1. For Messages, make sure Allow Notifications is on, Lock Screen, Notification Center, and Banners are on.
  2. For Messages, make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.

After getting the iPhone 11, I stopped getting all notifications as well. I saw on this forum some people were getting other notifications but I wasn’t getting a single thing.... until now! I went to my settings and hit “Forget this Device” and was having trouble re-pairing to Bluetooth, so I ended up going to the Fitbit app and paired it through the app. When I did that my phone asked if I wanted to allow notification, I hit yes and I got my notifications back working! I had also turned off my phone after unpairing my Charge 2. Not sure if that was a factor but figured it’s worth mentioning. Hope other people have luck getting their notifications back on.

Those tips did not help me either, but I did just get my notifications back working! I unpaired my Charge 2, turned off my phone, then opened up the FitBit app and tapped the account button in the top left corner (which is just the Fitbit profile pic of yourself), and then hit “Charge 2”. Once I scrolled to the bottom of the list of options, I hit the sync button and it offered me to pair the Charge 2, and once I hit yes my phone asked if I wanted to receive notifications, I hit yes and tada my notifications are back for calls & texts! Hope it helps!

These steps do not work. I have tried multiple times, still unable to get text messages and calls from my iPhone to show up on my ionic

Oddly I am receiving ALL notifications after updating to iOS 13 except for iMessage.

I followed all the steps but it's still not working.  😞

My daily now shows calories instead of steps, after my iPhone updated. Also, when I try to get the watch face back that I had, it tells me to go to the Fitbit app. I am on the Fitbit app.

Ok. For everyone having issues with the IOS software update—- I just figured it out for most of us!!!!! Check your Do not disturb and fix the settings in your iPhone...Allow notifications on Fitbit app...Then you should be set! I was going crazy the last week/this week without my Fitbit working properly after I did the update. Nothing was showing up as well as on the Fitbit app I could not see any of my apps to allow notifications.  I tried everything so I thought!  I finally went through the Do not disturb menu on my phone

Something none of us would think to even check) And all the settings were completely messed up I fixed them and wen on Fitbit app and allow the app notifications! Finally back to working again 🙂 hope this helps some of you with this issue!

Is there any update to the known issue with IOS13 update and Fitbit 3 not receiving notifications?

I only bought my Fitbit three days ago and it clearly doesn’t work how it should.

You should advise potential customers PRIOR to purchase that it does not work the way it is meant to.

Same problem with me. Blaze continues vibrating re incoming call 5-mins into the phone call. The link is from another thread with moderator update 11 hrs ago - aware of issue and looking into it apparently.

Lost message and calendar notifications for my Fitbit as soon as I updated to iOS 13.  Tried all trouble shooting and it’s not working. Guess I’ll be buying the Apple Watch for Christmas. Fed up with my Fitbit either: having lines down the screen, straps failing not syncing or failing to show notifications.

Fitbit have really dropped the ball here.
