We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:
1. GET UP-TO-DATE
- Update the Fitbit app.
- Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.
2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS
- Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
- Tap the information icon
- Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
- Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
- Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
- Tap the information icon
- Turn on Share System Notifications.
3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS
- Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
- Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
- Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App | Settings |
---|---|
Calendar |
|
Messages |
|
Phone |
|
All other apps |
|
4. RESTART YOUR PHONE
For instructions, see the Apple help article.
If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

I'm having the opposite problem where I get the same notification over and over (about every 5 minutes).

My issue is that my notifications come over fine. I just don’t get alerted of them. The phone and Fitbit isn’t on DND. I can see the notifications when I swipe down but j need to be alerted to them. With the new update you can no longer long hold the back button and swipe right to turn in notifications. Grrrrrr

I’m receiving notifications on my watch now, but still no text notifications. How much longer will we be having these issues? Please figure it out quickly — it’s past annoying now.

I agree. I’ve never had a problem with my Versa until now and it’s beyond frustrating that support isn’t even acknowledging that it’s a problem. I’ve emailed, chatted with support, called support and sent a PM. All to no avail.

Thanks but my Versa is no longer under warranty. Everything works fine but I am just not getting alerted of my notifications. The notifications are coming through fine, it just doesn’t vibrate to alert me. And no one at support knows why. This only happened after the latest firmware update.

I did the fitbit update and I still need to have my notification setting on “when unlock” to receive messages. How long is the warranty?
