We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

I turned my notifications off when locked. Left the other 2 options checked marked. Not ideal but works

My update was the equivalent of 13 but was 12.4.2. I can see the notifications in the Notification Center, but I do not receive a vibration or banner to let me know there’s something there.

That’s the only thing that finally worked! In Show Previews under Notifications it has to be either on Always(Default) or When Unlocked. If it’s on Never you won’t get messages to your FitBit

I’ve followed all the steps and still no notifications on my Charge 2. 😞 so disappointing!

The same is happening to mine. If I look for a message I can find it but no vibration or banner. And it also seems to be hit and miss.

Nothing active on my Alta following the iOS update. Followed the directions in the article (which were already set) and still nothing working on the Alta. Frustrating!

Yeah this thread doesn’t help. I called iPhone. And I called Apple. Nothing helps. I only wear my Fitbit for my text and calling notifications. It’s not doing me any good now so until this gets fixed I quit wearing it.

This is frustrating. I can not receive notifications either. This is pushing me towards an Apple watch if it doesn't get resolved soon.

It’s been almost a month since the release of the new iOS and this still hasn’t been fixed. I refuse to turn on the texts preview setting on my phone in order to get notifications on my charge 3, I’d rather switch to an Apple iwatch at this point. So annoying and such a waste of money!

I have tried uninstalling the app on my phone many times. Sometimes I can then see my Fitbit, but not always.
Now my Fitbit has stopped tracking sleep and pulse. The problems seem to be getting worse and certainly not better. I’ve only had my Fitbit for a few months but looking to replace it because it’s worthless with all these constant problems.

Hello. I have tried everything you mentioned about but nothing seems to work. It’s been almost a week of this and it’s getting really frustrating 🙂

If they can’t get this fixed Apple is going to do more business with their watches that’s for sure
