We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

Yes I have the Charge 3 and I had to turn all my notifications on. I don't like having my messages on my phone pop up where anyone and everyone can see what people are saying. I have it on my wrist to see if I need to respond to anything right away. I am not buying a flipping Apple Watch.

Well my alta fitbit suddenly started working to receive text message alerts after several weeks of frustration and on the verge of getting an apple watch.  Yes the messages show up also on my phone, but I guess I will take what I can since I really need the text alerts on my fitbit, instead of constantly looking at my phone when I get messages.

I've completed all the suggested steps. My Versa is receiving call notifications correctly. Text notifications are showing up on my Versa but I'm not being "notified" of them; no vibration is happening.

Curious if anyone else is having this same experience.

Is turning message previews always on a temporary workaround? I don't like having previews of texts showing on my phone..

No they say it’s the only way for you to receive texts on your Fitbit until they fix the issue but who knows how long that’ll be. It’s been going on for a month now

I have an Alta HR and am experiencing the same problems as everyone else.  A new glitch, however, is that my phone keeps disconnecting the Fitbit.  This has never happened before and it has been doing this since the update.  Anyone else having this issue?

Yes, that is my problem. Won't stay connected, so am not getting any notifications.   Tried all these steps more than once. Sometimes it connects but won't stay connected to all-day.
