We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

It has been weeks now!!! Is there going to be any update to correct the notifications not going through to the Blaze? I am getting frustrated at this point.

This is beyond frustrating! I have followed all the suggested remedies and I still don’t receive notifications on my Charge 3. When will this be fixed?????

I contacted Fitbit support today and not only was there no fix or proposed timeline for a solution but they also told me my less than 1 yr old device wouldn’t be returnable under warranty because it’s a software issue not a hardware issue. Has anyone gotten this response as well?

@SunsetRunner   How do you do that?   I dont even show a place to click on notifications on my fitbit.  I am getting calls, twitter and calendar -- just not text.

I have to say that i chatted with a fitbit rep when my charge 3 stopped receiving text messages since i updated to ios 13.  this was weeks ago.  this is completely unacceptable as a company to allow their users to experience such an issue for this long.  if this were apple, an update would be out the next day.  the fact that this is still unresolved is ridiculous.  i have since switched back to my apple watch and will be throwing away my useless charge 3.  goodbye fitbit!

I did that. It doesn’t work. I still have to have previews. I even ran the iOS update hoping that would solve the issue. And no. This has been a month.

None of those things have worked, and my app and versa software are up to date. And so is my phone. So I still have to have previews. Or no notifications at all. That is not appropriate.

I agree. The fact that it is taking this long to fix the error is pretty mind blowing.

Update:

Yep, done that already. No luck.

Even tried the newest iOS update and all the latest tricks and still a bust.

It sounds about like it’s time to part ways with Fitbit and move to android or Apple Watch.

Can you please just tell everyone is there another update for the versa watch coming? The top banner message now reads "We’re aware that some customers may experience a compatibility issue with notifications after updating their iPhone to iOS 13. Find troubleshooting tips here." This used to say we are hard at work on a update to resolve this issue. There has been no update for weeks now.

Clearly the troubleshooting doesn't work. Have you seen the threads of comments under it. Nearly every person saying they are going to switch to apple or android watches. We just want the watch to work as normally before the update receiving  notifications and the other issues that are happening. How you are still advertising to update the watch when you have IOS phone "for the best experience" baffles me.

I have been onto to support who continue to say the update is coming, won't give a replacement or refund and I have the watch less than 6 months even though it's not working as it is suppose to.
