We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

I have posted a little on this forum regarding notifications no longer reaching Charge 3, and other watches.

I resently bought the Ionic, and had the same problem with it.

But now, I have solved this problem, even for my wifes new Versa 2.

The solution to text noticifation not showing and call notification not working on IOS phones when using Fitbit watches:

Remove the Fitbit from bluetooth devices.  Remove the device from the app.

Go to settings, general, to the bottom, choose reset, and then reset all settings.

After the phone does its work:

Add the device again in the app, and say "yes" to all questions.

Now, under "settings", "preview", choose "when unlocked".  This way, the text will not show when phone is locked.

This worked on my Charge 2, Charge 3, Ionic, and Versa 2.

You will lose some setting on your phone, but no apps, music, mails, or documents.

This worked for me.  Spread the word!!!!

Hi @Badlands19     seems "your fix" is the one that Moderator @MatthewFitbit  posted in the first post of this thread. Glad you and the wife are doing well with your Fitbits.

Hello, Odysseys13

I was not aware of that.  Good to hear that you know of this.

I did not know at this point that it was already suggested.

Hi there,

I did turn off bluetooth and also did a force stop. I put my watch on charger even though it was at 65%. It seems when I did that the device was found and able to sync. Thanks so much for the ideas as something worked. 😊

Will I lose the music from the ionic though? Took me about 6 hours to get it on there!

If that will stay safe on the watch then I will try this afternoon! I have my first 10 mule race this morning and can’t risk the failure of the music on the watch!!!

Many thanks

What settings on the phone will be lost?

Best Answer

All settings you did since the phone was new.  Text settings, background, keyboard sound, privacy settings etc..

No major things.  It takes me 5 minuttes to get that back the way I want it.

Thanks. Have you found with resetting that you still have to select show preview with messaging? I just made that change on my phone and texts are actually showing up on my Versa 2, but I’d rather not have my phone show text previews.

Hi!  Just backup your phone if you think you will lose something.  No info will go lost.  Only settings.

Yeah you have to show previews. It sucks. I’m about ready to buy an apple watch

Hi.

Yes, one needs preview on, always, to make it work.(Not anymore!!!)

And I really think it is super annoying!  This is the same on the Ionic and Versa 2.

Just tried it, and notofocation wont work without it.

So if anyone has a fix for that, let us know.

Fibit doesnt seem to be breaking a sweat over this.
