We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

 I think that part of the problem here is that there is no single issue but that the whole thing is multifactorial. So what works for me doesn’t necessarily work for others. Having said that I am back working again because;

1. I noticed that one of the reasons I had lost Notifications was because my iPhone 7 kept dropping the Bluetooth connection to my Ionic. It was proving a problem to reconnect until I read on another thread that there is an issue with Bluetooth connections when there are two or more Bluetooth devices in range. Since turning off the Bluetooth on my iPad the connection  has been fine (fingers crossed)

2. I contacted Fitbit support. ( it's a bit frightening what they know about me and my Fitbit without me telling them!) and they pointed out that there had been an update that I didn’t know about. I was on 3.8 and there is a 3.9 out there. I eventually (it wasn’t easy) worked out how to update and hopefully that will help.

As I said, I don’t know if this has any relevance to anyone else but I thought it might be worth sharing. Good luck!

@Appin how did you find out what update you had (is this the Fitbit update).  How did you get the latest update?  Was your ionic losing time as well and if so, did this fix it?  Sorry for all the questions

I have tried all of the troubleshooting and nothing works. My versa still won't vibrate and it's been 2 weeks. I'm up to date with fitbit and ios. I've never had an issue  until now. Was hoping last fitbit update the other day would fix this but it didn't.

I went back through settings on my messages and clicked shows previews when unlocked.  It started working again.  However, that is not my normal setting from previous. I like my previews never shown.  Will it be able to go back to the settings I want??

What about us Android users that can't use our Versa Lite anymore? Are you working hard to fix that for us? Cuz the trouble shooting and sending"new" watches out is not working.

It's the FitBit 100%. I'm an Android user and can't get my phone to see my FitBit in Bluetooth, it won't even go past the set up screen the (please download FitBit app) screen. They sent a new one and it has the same problem. My phone is approved and the first FitBit worked just fine until the update.

For section 3, I’m not seeing where to pull that page up. Where exactly do I need to go to find these notifications?

I FIGURED IT OUT!!  It's a STUPID Fitbit default setting with the latest app update!  Long press the left single button.  Mine was set to "Do Not Disturb" by DEFAULT.  Why in the world would anyone want it to default to that?!  Turn "Do Not Disturb" OFF and now I'm getting all my notifications!

Hasn’t worked, as mine has always been off

Mine was never set to Do Not Disturb.  Ever.  But I noticed last night when I swiped down from the top of the Versa by accident, that my notifications were there.  Since the update, they weren't showing on my phone at all and I got no buzz on my wrist.  That told me something wasn't set up correctly.  It totally defaulted to Do Not Disturb after the update without my doing it!

Still not working. I changed it when I updated the Fitbit app. Glad it worked for others with the versa.

My Fitbit Versa is not showing any previews of text messages.  Calls are coming through.  This is getting really annoying and I am tempted to just get rid of Fitbit all together and get an iWatch.  At this point it has been over a month and there is still no resolution from Fitbit.  Please tell me something is coming soon because the whole reason I got a Versa was for the text previews.  Very disappointed in a platform I have loved for years.

I have the Versa 2 and tried this. Still didn't work on mine. Can only see my calls/voicemail notifications, but not texts still.
