Stopped seeing notifications after updating to iOS 13

We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

1. Update the Fitbit app.
2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
2. Tap the information icon   next to the name of your Fitbit device.
3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
   1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
   2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
   3. Tap the information icon   next to the name of your Fitbit device
   4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:

App	Settings
Calendar	Allow Notifications—On Tap each notification type and verify the settings: Alerts > Notification Center—On Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages	Allow Notifications—On Alerts > Notification Center—On Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone	Allow Notifications—On Alerts > Notification Center—On Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps	Allow Notifications—On Alerts > Notification Center—On Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

This finally worked for me too! I am not happy about having my text show in my screen but If it will fix it for now then I’m happy!!

My calls were showing up yesterday no text messages at all and now nothing
again today. The thing I am finding strange is since uninstalling and
reinstalling, Fitbit now displays when I am on active call on my phone.
Like duh. I know I am on phone. Send me notifications of my text messages

Me too. At least they're showing on three watch itself so I know whay I'm

Ok Apple just released another update, I just updated again, removed Fitbit from Bluetooth and readded (all the same steps we’ve done a million times). I just changed preview to “when unlocked”, and when my phone is locked I get the call and text notifications on my flex 2. It’s a step up from having it set to “Always”!

Thanks for keeping us updated about your devices, and I'm sorry for any frustration that this issue has caused you. Our team is further investigating this situation so you can be able to receive notifications after updating to iOS 13. In the meantime and just for the ones that haven't done so please give a try to the troubleshooting steps posted here. Also, verify that the Fitbit app is updated to the latest version as well to not have multiple Bluetooth connections next to your Fitbit device when trying these steps. 

Make sure to keep an eye on this thread for future updates and we appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

For the ones that are having issues with the notifications not received from an Android device, or with your Fitbit device, my best advise is to go to the Android Forum or to your Fitbit device thread in the Help Forums and post your question. That’s what apple wants. It is apple and not Fitbit that did this and I’m sure on purpose to get people to switch and stop 3rd parties from using their systems. Brilliant plan...

Not only am I not getting my text notifications but my battery won’t stay charged.  Ughh

After trying all the steps, turning off Bluetooth, etc, it no longer says show notifications when I click on the “i” by the Alta in my Bluetooth.

I updated and now all my sleep insights for months have gone it just shows the length of time I was in bed but nothing else the graphs are the same but the restless awake etc figures are gone. How do I fix it ?

Hi! I found something on Reddit that fixed the issue for me!

On your iPhone, go to Settings > Messages > Show Previews > When Unlocked or Always (Default).

I've always had my text preview set to "Never" and honestly didn't think this would work but it did! Before I found this, I tried everything from un-pairing/uninstalling the Fitbit App and everything along those lines and nothing worked. (Also if you're wondering, I have an iPhone 8 Plus)

I hope this fixes this for you and anyone on here that's been dealing with this! I was about to give up and get rid of the watch LMAO.

I do not want my messages to preview on my phone- just on my Fitbit. It appears that I need to set message preview to “on” for my phone in order for it to work on my Fitbit. This is not acceptable.

So I turned on my phone text message preview notification to ALWAYS (DEFAULT) and now i get the messages on my Fitbit Alta. I DO NOT want my texts previewing on the phone just so Fitbit will preview it.  I don’t understand how it was working fine on iOS 13 during the day 9/21 with no changes done to ANYTHING and all a sudden stop notifying texts in the evening of the same day.
