Hello everyone!

I would like to announce that the redesigned Fitbit app starts rolling out today! This new app will help you reach your goals, and bring the health and wellness information right on hand.

Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.

Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.

Happy stepping!

My goal is to know what my fitbit battery percentage is but fitbit want to keep it a secret. My inspire 3 was advertised as having 10 days battery life. I am lucky to get just over a day.

And to be clear, it won’t be the Google watch if that was your plan Google.

googles gone a long way since they first started — not be evil? smh

The new “update” is horrible.  The previous version was easy to understand and the data was easy to find and interpret. The “upgrade” seriously compromises the usefulness of this app. Sleep score is no longer available, battery level is not obviously displayed, many of the health metrics that I depend on are no longer available. The option to select a focus is misguided and needs to be reconsidered.  Health is holistic: activity, sleep, and stress reduction all play roles in overall good health. Fitbit used to be a great tool for encouraging healthy habits. It no longer does that for me.  A wise person once said, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Good advice. Fitbit software developers should go back to the drawing boards and fix the problems that they have created.

Lousy design… no battery life to be found. I don’t care about calories burned, I want to focus on steps. If I had a menstrual cycle I wouldn’t want to keep track of it, either. I cannot get rid of what I don’t want, and you took away a vital piece of information.

Worst design every!!!!!

They’re destroying Nest too.

I spoke to Fitbit and they said they are working on ‘issues’. My suggestion is that should be inundated with calls or chats. The color is drab as well! Who’s idea was this??? Keep writing to them!!!!!

Very well put. I’ve run into these TOS arguments before. Essentially answers to questions nobody asked.

I looked at the specs for the Pixel Watch.  It does indeed look as if they have kidnapped Fitbit and crammed it into an Apple watch clone priced at a similar amount ($300something).  My question is, why couldn't they simply tell the ****ing truth and say Fitbit as we know it is dead, buy a Pixel watch or pound sand?

Please give us back the old screen

New screen is generic and dull, dull, dull. Don’t fix what ain’t broken!!!!!! Give us the choice. Don’t make the choice for us.

the new update feels very obviously modeled after all of the worst features/design layouts of the ios health app with none of the innovative features that the ios watch and fitness apps do have. the original dashboard customization interface worked far better than the new one. the icons are more aesthetically pleasing and i like the ability to remove icons if unnecessary but where is the replacement for the banners? your step streak should still have a banner or change your homepage background.

imo the information from tip/fact banners were the only unique and positive feature of the old app. is the information reimplemented or removed from the app completely?

This change is terrible. It’s more complicated, less informative and visually unappealing

I feel like what they did has to be illegal. But even if they are technically within “legal” bounds, I can’t imagine 1 in 100 people saying this is an improvement or a better design. This is such a breach of trust to existing users of Fitbit. Crimes against humanity, or at least a crime against Fitbit users. Just awful.

It’s awful.  How can a tech company, bought by one of the biggest in the world, get it so wrong? Your App design team, and the release management executives need to be sacked.  I’m already looking elsewhere.  After many years and watch upgrades, I won’t be sticking around long.

The new app is awful, is it possible to roll it back. I have used better apps provided with cheap amz fitness trackers.

This new update makes me less motivated to work out. The app is less colourful, and doesn't throw confetti when you completed your main goals (unlike the old version). Also, in the exercise days, the automatic detection would detect my work out and depending on the work out, there would be a little guy doing the activity I was doing. I don't like how he's gone now..

Because Fitbit has so many followers and it does what it does better than any other product

Hate it so much, it’s bland and unappealing and I can’t figure out how to read most of the data. Everything looks the same. Once this Fitbit dies on me I won’t be replacing it. Perfectly good piece of kit completely ruined by the new interface

I really detest this new version. its an absolute boring mess.  Didn't even get the option to stay on the previous version.  It not user friendly at all now.

That was the intent mess up Fitbit so you will replace with a pixel. It has worked in politics were a large working class segment gets jerked by their party but continue to vote for them. I wouldn’t buy another google device if you paid me.
