Hello everyone!

Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.

Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.

WHY on earth did they take away the things that I loved about Fitbit!!! No group challenges, you can’t see your total steps for any week anymore, can’t see battery life… can’t see total calories burned for weeks… Sucks! I hate it! I want old Fitbit back! 😫

It has been removed.

@Sparky-10 , the sleep section is identical, even in appearance, to the old app. What’s missing?

@csmitha — The buttons are still there, but they are white against a very light grey background up in the upper right corner. Very poor choice of colors, but they’re there. 😀

Hello @Kate205

As far as I know, there isn't a way to revert to the previous version. If that changes, you will definitely see a notice/pinned post about that.

Horrible question:  what version does the Google watch use?

Best Answer

Google once had a motto, “Don’t be Evil.” But dropped that in 2015. The parent corporation, Alphabet”, has a motto of “Do the Right Thing.” I am guessing that Don’t Be Evil did not have enough wiggle room for them. Do The Right Thing is so vague that it allows them room to do anything they want to do, since anything that they do will always be right for them. Even it it does the rest of the world evil.

Agree!

I would like to add that the new app no longer allows me to easily switch to my kids accounts and sync their devices.  This was trivial in the old app but has disappeared in this version.

It seems everything about Fitbit is disappointing these days.

1. New app absolutely sucks! Interface is less intuitive. Notifications are screwed up. Consecutive days streak is gone. It doesn't automatically recognize my exercise sessions.

2. My Charge 4 broke so I went for a Charge 5. No altimeter. Why have climbing badges? Returning the 5 for a 4.

3. Wait! Heard there's a new Charge 6 out. No altimeter there either. Nevermind.

Apple Watch is starting to look better and better.

How do we go back to the old one. I hate this new dashboard

Can we go back to the old dashboard?!

Actually the more I look at the new GUI the more I appreciate it’s less about poor design and more about relentless upsell to Premium.  I don’t want coaching sessions on how to walk … I just want to know that I am doing enough exercise every day. Please read these posts and revert asap

Please add the ability to see how much battery strength there is left.  It used to show the percentage.  Now it doesn't show % or that it's charging etc.  It's terrible

Now my steps for today have simply disappeared:

I  now have four hours with over 250 steps, but 0 steps?  How does that even work?  This new app is terrible.  I have lost functionality (can’t sync my kids devices), data is disappearing, and the UI experience is a serious downgrade.  Revert to the old app.  I have been a loyal customer with multiple devices (scale, fitbits for myself and children) since 2011.  It was bad enough when challenges disappeared a few months back (my kids loved those), but this is unacceptable.  I am a premium member and I am about ready to cancel and trash the devices.

Agree. You used to be able to see battery status after a sync. Now it’s 3 levels deep. Terrible change.

I think 3 year olds could do better. My complaints so far:
My rowing is now recorded as a walk.  My 30 minute workout that usually counted for 40 zone minutes is routinely 5.
My steps are usually in the 8-10k range are now under 3000.
It doesn't show the zone breakdown for my workout like it used to -- probably because it didn't bother to record any.
I have previously asked how to downgrade from this "upgrade" and no reply.

Hate the new interface. And I don’t use google so what will happen to my account eventually? Why mess with something that was working? And why can’t we at least remove things we don’t want to see on the screen. Total fail.

Not happy at all - there is nothing I like about the new software. My screen does not have my steps large like the sample above. It has a flame and my weight- so I am really unhappy. If anyone knows how to make the steps larger, please share.
