Hello everyone!
I would like to announce that the redesigned Fitbit app starts rolling out today! This new app will help you reach your goals, and bring the health and wellness information right on hand.
Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.
Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.
Happy stepping!

how do we go back to the earlier version? This update drains my fit bit to the point of there’s no point bothering with it

Looks like it’s time to move to another platform. This update is absolutely horrendous and it is mind numbingly dull from the color scheme to the graphic images. Nothing like making an app look like you used some cheap vector images from the 90s. Good thing there are other brands out there. If you don’t listen to your customers we take our money elsewhere.

The new app is complete and utter garbage. The new UI is blinding, boring, and lacking any desire to use it. The old UI was just fine, I looked forward to opening it in the morning to see my sleep, etc. The new app is something I dread using.
How was Google so brain-dead to do something like this? I thought Google had smart employees. This looks like something a competitor would do to sabotage the product.
Absolutely insane that this was allowed to happen. This new app needs to be discarded in favor of the previous design, ASAP. It's absolutely disgusting to look at and use.

You aren't alone. I was shocked to see this horrible new design. My eyes felt like they were being bleached by all the white and gray and mute colors, plus missing key information that was on the old user interface which worked just fine.
I have seen tech evolve, and interfaces change, but this was one of the most jarring and most horrible changes to any user interface by any company. This is something you'd do if you wanted to destroy your own product and user base.
Anyone involved in this app redesign need to be fired ASAP. This monstrosity of an app is inexcusable.

Here's a new little glitch I just realized was happening: If you sync with Peloton for workouts, the new Fitbit app doesn't accept any calories for that workout. Further, if you use Google Fit to connect with other programs, Google Fit won't accept any steps from your workout. So this morning, I went for a jog/run using my Peloton app. Google Fit won't accept any of the steps or health attributes. This means my Insurance provider -- who gives me credits -- will no longer be accepting my progress. In the end, it's all about the money and Google's belief we have no choice. Very frustrating and very frustrated. I used to get credits for good sleep, "x" amount of steps, workouts, etc. -- Fitbit just managed to take that money right out of my pocket. So I canceled my Fitbit Premium account. And hey -- Google -- no way am I buying a Google watch that has to be charged every single day.

One more thing for everyone whining about the "new look" -- all you have to do is look at Google Fit and you'll see where the design comes from. Good news for Google...surely they didn't have to pay any designers for this new look. Probably developed in Canva for free.

How did they send out notices? I didn’t get one.
Maybe this is why syncing doesn’t work until you turn off bluetooth and turn it in again?

Here's another "thumbs down." I hate the "upgrade," but was willing to put up with it as long as it worked.
Now it does not. Won't sync, won't update on the PC version. The old app was fine, why on earth did they try to "fix" it?
GRRRRR

Cancelled my premium, too. If the previous app isn’t reinstated, will be ditching the whole thing for something not affiliated with google.
