Hello everyone!

I would like to announce that the redesigned Fitbit app starts rolling out today! This new app will help you reach your goals, and bring the health and wellness information right on hand.

Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.

Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.

Happy stepping!

How?

Oh, thought it was just me re: sleep tracking.

FitBit’s sleep tracking is the main reason I’ve stuck with them for this long - if that’s gone downhill, then they’ve lost me as well 😑

I, as with everyone else, do not like the changes to the Fitbit app. It is extremely slow getting walking info. The map doesn't load properly and takes too much time. It used to be so easy to get information. This is terrible! I'm ok with changes but this app doesn't even work! Why would you roll out such a terrible update.

Best Answer

The new UI socks. Battery percentage was the only thing I used, and it's gone.

I wholeheartedly agree!! I'm so disappointed.

There was another update that in installed today and had high hopes. Unfortunately you didn’t add back the battery percentage on the main page of the app OR. The step streaks! Please add them both back . Listen to your customers!

At the very least, put the Battery gauge/monitor back in.

Google crushed the social components of Fitbit in April 2023, which was one of my favorite things and honestly the only reason I paid for a premium membership. Now in Sept 2023, it destroyed the app in its look (dull, depressing) and functionality (how is anyone supposed to see a monochrome plus sign at the bottom, blending in with everything else? How is that intuitive for users?) Google, are you trying to kill Fitbit slowly by running off its devoted fans? I’ve used this for a decade and would consider leaving if the look and fun and social aspects aren’t restored. I hate the takeover!

Hate the new app!!! Next watch won’t be a Fitbit solely for this reason. The app is awful. I need to know when to charge before I take off for the day. Now no way to see the percentage. Ridiculous

Yes totally agree,I used my app to check battery life all the time, hard to do if using the fitbit to excercise .

The app is so childish,it's something I would never have thought google would stoop too😡

I'm not a happy bunny.x😊

I also hate the new design face! I have no idea why it would be changed to a colourless, non-user friendly face. It’s so hard to find anything you need. Please can we have the option to revert to the old face?

Separately, the sync process with my watch takes hours. I sometimes can’t see my sleep score till halfway through the day whereas I used to check it immediately pretty much every morning when I had the charge 3. With the worse syncing and the terrible app, i am basically just using the Fitbit as a watch now. I can’t imagine i will stay loyal with a brand that is actively getting worse and not taking user feedback into account unfortunately.

This whole experience with fb takeover by g, has left me bitter. I was thinking of getting a phone from g instead of the fruit, but now I would think a million times before spending a penny on anything manufactured by g.

G lost my business for all hardware(s) for a very long time.

New app screen is awful - layout, colour scheme, hard to view data easily. Clearly no user experience design in mind - it’s utterly hateful and it needs to change back.

I have had nothing but trouble with this new app update. Streak banner notifications are gone and those really motivate me. The app locks up all the time and have to close and restart it. App often says blue tooth is not connected when it is on my phone. Have to refresh quite often as the steps are not accurate. The interface is not real intuitive and too big. I like the old interface.

Seems like it is a matter of time before I switch to buying another brand  now. Not happy, wish I could go back to old app.

I too am not happy with the new app version. First thing I looked at each day was battery percent to know when to plan a charge. It's important to know!! The little icon of the fitbit itself is too small.

The new battery gauge shows full when it's only 90%. BOO!

The app update is horrible.  Hate it.  Another reason to switch to Apple watch.

Did you test this at all with actual users.

you added nothing but made it worse.

This is the Titanic of updates!  Fitibit I suspect took input from some people who wanted improvement without realizing the existing features were in use by a much wider community.  And while appeasing the 5%, you crushed the positive outlook of probably 50%+.  What is shocking is this update provides something  disappointing to each person - not everyone is united in which REMOVED feature makes them most unhappy.  In fact, there were so many worthy features eliminated, Fitbit found a way to stab a wide variety of people.  I have my own set of disappointments in what you provided but honestly can fully understand as to why others are upset.  I have already gone to the Apple Store to switch my rating of 5 stars down to 1 star.  In the past, I have complained about customer service in the past but I have willingly purchased new Fitbits after that (thank you Costco - not Fitbit).  But I suspect, this is my last one.  It is probably time to move on.  Fitbit is the new Walkman - it was great while it lasted.
