Hello everyone!

I would like to announce that the redesigned Fitbit app starts rolling out today! This new app will help you reach your goals, and bring the health and wellness information right on hand.

Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.

Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.

Happy stepping!

It’s just awful… I’m THIS close to buying another product. I literally always came back FitBit BECAUSE OF THE APP, and how easy and informative it was!!! So disappointed.

I agree as well. It doesn’t synch properly and honestly, I don’t feel it’s keeping accurate data. Not an upgrade.

Oh, for crying out loud.  We have to vote on getting back a feature that was taken away????  Really????  I have stuck with Fitbit through thick and thin and all the problems I have had with them over the last 5 years, but this is by far, the worst ever.  I don't know if I will stay or not.  It surely isn't worth paying a premium!!!!!!!

I've had Fitbit for over a decade and I really don't like the new app. I don't like the visual appeal - there is none - and it's awful when I'm exercising and looking at it in real time. I would pull it up while doing aerobics to watch the step calculation and I can't do that now. It freezes all the time! I hate that.

I can't even get my Fitbit to synch manually anymore.  This is a total disaster.  Functionality that everyone liked and used has been taken away and replaced with stuff no one wants.  I have been loyal to the Fitbit brand for almost 10 years as well, and now, I am seriously considering getting an Apple watch.  In the past, Fitbit was consistently rated higher than Apple, but I doubt if that is the case any longer.  If anyone has done the research on Apple watches, please post.  I can't take the time right now to investigate.  I know Apple has been much higher priced in the past, but if the brand works better than Fitbit, it would be worth paying more for.

Well we are almost two months since the new upgrade and it just doesn’t work!!! Despite being ugly - all that white and huge lettering - it doesn’t synch. Been on to Fitbit support several times and tried everything but lucky if I get updates twice daily - yesterday took until 1630 to get any information at all. I loved my Fitbit - and hope I can find a new device that is like Fitbit before the upgrade because I won’t be buying another Fitbit. They’ve turned an excellent Fitbit into what is basically a step counter - but you’ll be lucky to even get that information. Such a shame - they had no right to do this.

The heart rate monitor doesn’t work in real time on the app, and no battery indicator! So when you look at the app you see a range of your heartbeat from low to high. What has happened with this new app is basically you just don’t use it anymore, maybe at the end of the day. So why pay for premium? Awesome! Just saved some money!

I can't manually log weight since I met my weight goal. The badge is where the "Log Weight" used to be. Can't get rid of the badge either

I HATE THE NEW APP. HATE. HATE. HATE IT. Is there ANY way I can get the old interface? Please. I’m begging. The new app sucks. It sucks. It’s so hard to see daily/weekly trends quickly the way you could before. It’s sooooooo much less motivating. Please go back. Or make the new interface optional. I will likely leave Fitbit for a different device over this when it’s time for an upgrade 😢. I’ve always preferred Fitbit, but no longer.

If you have an old iPhone with the Fitbit app that hasn’t updated you can use that. I have a uk number in my old iPhone XS and use that to monitor Fitbit. Its not ideal as I don’t always have that phone with me, but it’s better than the app on my main iPhone which I bitterly regret updating.
What a pathetic and ludicrous situation we are in.

One more comment.  I had been having trouble with the old version of the app not synching and not updating health and sleep information.  I just figured it was the same old problems.  I did a reset on the Fitbit and on my phone and then it worked for a day and then again, no data.  Now, it appears that whatever problem I was having with the old version was because of software changes for the new app.  I am not sure that going back to the old app would make any difference, although, you might be able to see the real time heart rate monitor and battery indicator.

Hi all,

I had been posting to another thread but now seem to be locked out of that thread due to my negative comments.  I just wanted to let everyone know that if you have the Premium membership, you are not allowed to cancel within the current subscription period.  Just another nail in the coffin.  I would also like to know if anyone uses Facebook or other online message functionality.  I previously posted information about alternatives to Fitbit and that was removed too.  In case others are interested, I wanted to share some information I had about alternatives, but since that isn't allowed on the Fitbit forum, I can't share it here.

I hate this new app. You have taken away much of the detail, I can't arrange my today page like I want it, data is inconsistent. Instead of peak, cardio, and fat burn, you've added moderate light, vigorous, and intense to describe the same thing on different pages. The today page has the same information duplicated here and there. Please bring back the old app. This one is just confusing, not at all user friendly, and lacks the detail I'm used to seeing.

The battery doesn’t show the percentage  anymore and i have to pull down three times to update my steps. Also no longer a list of daily steps. This is horrible

I just read that Google has pulled Fitbit sales from a whole bunch of countries.  Seems like they are intent on just killing it.

I’m sorry I don’t share your enthusiasm, the new design is not very appealing to eye, it lacks contrast and color variation. Please look at your past designs for inspiration.

 Thank you,

Wow, wonder what that is all about?  Maybe they are putting a pause on sales until they can get some of these issues fixed.  Miraculously, the day after I posted all my rants, my Charge 5 started synching again.  And, I am now getting everything updated except for O2.  I have had trouble with this not getting recorded off and on for the past few months.  I will go a day or two without the oxygen reading, so I will reset my tracker and phone, and sometimes, the next day, I will get the oxygen number, but not always.  I was getting ready to ask Support if maybe the sleep sensor might be failing, but when I checked, my tracker was purchased 367 days ago, so is no longer in warranty.  I am hoping this issue is still an ongoing software problem and that they are still working on a fix.  I did look into other options, but in hopes of not getting my reply removed, I won't go into any details, other than at this point, for me, the Fitbit has the information I have gotten used to getting and so I am going to be a little more patient to see if this can be resolved.

Well they are trying to sell Pixel-branded watches too.

So it seems like a split strategy.

If you buy a smart watch, from Google or anyone else, are you going to wear a Fitbit device on the wrist as well?

So Pixel Watch and other Android Wear smart watches are competitors to Fitbit now, which mostly sells watch form factors.  No more of the dedicated fitness trackers you wear on your waist where it's more accurate than wearing on the wrist.

I just did a treadmill workout and was checking the steps on the app and I see that it is now showing heart rate.  When I first open the app, it does show the range but if I leave it open, it flips over to showing heart rate in real time.  I wonder if there has been a software change or if we just didn't see this working previously.
