Mine has just synced after days of it saying ‘searching’ when I uninstalled the fitbit and tried to start again. The only thing I did differently from my previous attempts was to charge the battery overnight via the PC even though, on the screen, it appeared fully charged before I went to bed. I’m crossing my fingers it stays synced.

I have tried everything to get my fitbit app to update. Restarted phone, removed app and re-installed. Deleted fitbit and am currently trying to reinstall. It has located Ionic but is stuck on the screen saying connecting to tracking. This has been for well over half hour.

How frustrating! I don’t know what I did but mine started working. Good luck, I hope something clicks for you too.

I cannot sync my fitbit 1 with my iPhone 8 or my iPad. I tried turning bluetooth off, reset the one, deleted the app but cannot find the app at the App Store. My last sync was Sat. Night at 1:47am

Hello @Minnie10, thanks for joining the conversation, it's a pleasure for me to welcome you to the Fitbit Community.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Tell me, are you trying to download the Fitbit app from your phone or from your iPad? If it's from your iPad, please note that the Fitbit app for iPad is the exact same one as the one for the iPhone. If you're still unable to locate it, please go to the App Store in the iPad and on the top left you will be able to change from iPad Store (iPad only) to iPhone Store (iPhone only).
Once on iPhone Store you will be able to search for "Fitbit" and the first result will be the Fitbit app, which you will be able to install and use in your iPad.
You'll now be able to download the app.
Now, after downloading the app, please go to your iPhone and iPad Bluetooth Settings and check if your tracker is on the list of compatible devices. If it is, tap on it and select "Forget this Device", then try the following steps:
If your device still won't sync, try these steps:
I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

Hello Marco,
It's been about 5 or 6 months since I was last on this thread, and it looks like Fitbit is no closer to having a solution to this problem than you were back then.
Personally, I gave up ever trying to sync my Charge-HR using my iPhone 5S with the latest iOS. Instead of my phone, I use an old 5th generation iPod that is running iOS 9.3.5, which is the last iOS version available for that device, and the latest version of the Fitbit app installed on it. That's my solution - and to everyone out there... you can get one of these iPods on ebay or Amazon used for as little as $20 . If you are still fighting this fight then it might be the easiest solution for you.
BUT - MARCO! - here's the thing... every time someone writes on this thread with what appears to be the same problem, you (or someone else from Fitbit) write back as if it's a brand new problem that you (Fitbit) have never encountered before. I don't know about anyone else, but I would have been a lot more patient if Fitbit had taken ownership of this issue and just said, "hey, we know there is a problem, here's a workaround, and we're working hard to find a solution". This is customer service 101 stuff.
Instead you guys go, "Hmmm you can't sync? Wonder why that is.... Is it plugged in? Have you wiped your disk and reloaded the operating system? ... <don't take this literally, it's irony!> and you do it like no one's ever had this problem before.
Look - I don't know the solution to the problem and I don't have the tools to find it. Fitbit should have the tools and knowledge, but it appears not to be a priority for the company.
I have purchased 4 Fitbits for myself and as gifts for other people, and several times I thought about getting one of the newer models, so I'm the kind of customer you'd want to keep. As is everyone else who's written into this thread. Of course, I'm not going to get a newer model Fitbit - in fact, I no longer recommend the product. I used to be an unpaid sales rep for Fitbit but - since I encountered this problem and, more importantly Fitbit's non-response - I've had it with Fitbit. I'll use my Charge-HR until it stops working or falls apart and then I'll find something else to take its place but... I'll never buy another Fitbit.
Do you understand? You have a technical problem And you have a customer service problem.
Does anyone at Fitbit even care?
That's it - I'm done venting.

I couldn't get my Flex 2 to sync with my new iphone 8 running some version of IOS 11. I tried the restart (both phone and tracker), deleted the app a few times and reinstalled, turned bluetooth on and off. Finally on another forum someone suggested that I turn off the bluetooth on my old phone (the one that I previously had flex synced to.) I hadn't thought about this since I had gone so far as to remove the Fitbit app from that phone. As soon as I turned off the bluetooth on the old phone and tried to set up the Flex 2 again on the new phone, it worked fine.
