I have been using Fitbit to track my runs for years now. Just last week I noticed when I use the app and change the activity type from walk to run, after I complete my runs it reverts it back to a walk. First time I thought it was my error but it has been doing this for over a week now. I like using the GPS map to track my runs so I can see the map when I am finished. Anyone else have this issue or a solution to fix it?

Hi everyone. Thank you for your patience.
Our team informed me that the maps issue with MobilRun and Connected GPS should be resolved with the next app update (v4.21).
If possible, update the Fitbit app and let us know over here how it looks.

Best AnswerIt hasn’t worked for me. I’m still recording as a run on my phone GPS and Fitbit changes it to a walk
This is my experience too. No change.

Best AnswerI've got the most recent update. Still logging running as walking. Still can't edit. NOW it won't link to Strava. It does not look good at all. I'm not sure how things got worse, but they did.
Best AnswerI have the latest app v4.21 and a brand new Inspire 3 and am having this same issue. I start my exercise as a "Run" but it gets logged as a "Walk". When are you going to address this definitively? Clearly this has been going on for MONTHS now and absolutely zero progress has been made. This is a competitive world and there are other choices out there than your product. Either fix the issue, please, or be prepared to become another failed bankrupt tech company that couldn't keep up.
Best AnswerUpdated the app… issue not resolved.

I agree it has been such a long time and this issue has yet to be resolved. I have seen the post from the Fitbit guy who is assuring us the team is now working on it… Let’s hope so as it is VERY frustrating!

They need to work on it fast as this issue has been going for a long time. The recording of the distance has also been altered. I used to be a little upfront with distances - comparing to my fellow runners. Now I am at least measuring 100m behind when in fact we run together! Any ideas? This issue has happened at the same time as ‘the run revert to walk’ issue. Thank you for your help. F. Joyce

The app is getting worse. I tried to record a run and there were several errors:
1) The app wouldn't stay open so I had to unlock my phone to stop the app.
2) When I paused my run, it wouldn't let me resume and basically froze up.
3) It recorded that 1/2 of my run twice. When I tried to delete the duplicate, the app froze up and when I opened the app, I just got a white screen.
So today's experiment was just recording a walk. It shut down after 5 minutes. I can't edit the walk and I can't delete it. When I tried, I got a white screen again. Now I can't log anything - water, food, activity, etc. Nothing.
How is this better???

Best AnswerImagine how encouraged I was to see an upgrade to the running app. Could this be the solution after 7 months of recording runs as walks and posting incorrect run times? Unfortunately not. The new app has very poor GPS and started giving 1km split time updates every 1.1km (though I had actually run around 1.6km at this point)? My 7.5km run was recorded on Fitbit as a 4.16km run, so again, the issues persist.
Fitbit - I may as well ask...are you going to compensate your users for being unable to use the product as advertised?
