Hello
I have went through and saved the nutritional value on all the recipes and foods I have planned for the week on my fitbit app under Custom Foods. However, when I go to search for them they don't show up. They are only under "recent' (because I just added them). However, I would like to know that I can find them when they are no longer "recent". Help!

What is the status of resolving this issue? Please put this issue on the front burner - it prevents Fitbit owners from fully using the device and app. Thank you.

Hello @NYL, I hope you're doing well, thanks for taking the time to reply.
I completely understand your concern about this issue. As mentioned before, our team is actively working towards finding a prompt and proper resolution for this situation and once I have more information to share with you I'll update the thread. Unfortunately, I don't have a specific timeframe for when this issue will be resolved and it will be very irresponsible of me to give you one at this time.
As always, I appreciate your participation in the forums, thanks for all your patience.

Hi, just entering the discussion as I have also had this problem and is real annoying. I only log new foods on the PC, same issue as everyone else has mentioned. They are in the custom list but do not show up when you search. Clearly this has been going on for a couple of months now, it used to work just fine. Have they really made no progress on unbreaking whatever was broken in an update I presume? No progress at all on working out a fix for this??

Still not working. It's been over three months now that the FitBit App is NOT finding recently added custom foods. Maybe we're only allowed to eat a certain number of custom things? Then after that we're not allowed to eat anything different. Whatever the situation, it shouldn't take this long to fix. The custom food is in the database, the Search feature should find it. Please escalate this fix, as it's becoming a huge annoyance now.

Hi,
another month passed by and problem with searching custom food is still not solved. Are you going to fix this bug? What's the status?

This has always happened since I have had my fitbit, I am running latest version of IOS and unfortunately the latest version of the app where you can't log any foods at all. Is this being fixed?

Adding my voice. Same issue. Problem occurs both in the fitbit app (HTC Desire 626) and the web dashboard (Linux Xubuntu 18.04, using chrome).

Hello @FancyFreya, thanks for joining the conversation, it's a pleasure for me to welcome you to the Fitbit Community.
I appreciate your participation in the forums and for reporting this situation. If you haven't done it already, please update the app to the latest version (2.53.1) as some bugs affecting food logs were resolved on this version. If you're still unable to find your Custom Foods after updating the app, please restart your phone and try again.
I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

I have updated to the newest version of the FitBit app, and thankfully the food logging problem has been fixed. However, the custom food searching is still not working. When searching, it will show older custom foods that I've added to my list, however, it won't search anything I've added in the last few months, they simply do not show up in the search at all. When I scroll down my custom list they are there, and when I log into the FitBit website on my computer they are there in my custom list as well, but the app is still not seeing them. I am wondering if the disaster with the food logging that just happened in the previous update was the attempted fix for the custom food search. Hopefully this problem is still being worked on, and will have a swift resolution. We enter custom foods because they are not in the data base, and most of the time we eat them more than once. It's cumbersome to have to scroll through our (sometimes substantial and long) custom foods lists to add a food to our log when the search doesn't even see them when they are there.

I am also having the same issue, and it doesn't matter whether I'm using the browser version or the app, so I'm not sure how updating the app will help. Custom foods don't show up in search. When trying to re-add the food, it gives me an error that the food name already exists. This is extremely frustrating.

Hello @carrieanne87, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. It's nice to see you too @NYL and @Marelco, I hope you're doing well.
@NYL, If you'd like to know which version of the app is currently installed in your phone, please go to the App and tap on Account > Help, you will be able to see the version here. The latest version released was [2.53.1] and the app updates through the App Store on your phone, not directly through the Fitbit app.
@carrieanne87 and @Marelco, I appreciate you have reported this to me, I'll make sure to forward the information to our team. As you've noticed, they have already fixed the issue affecting food logs not saving and I'll make sure to report this additional issue so they can check it further.
I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you please feel free to reply.

I have the same problem on the website.

Hi Everyone, our team is aware of custom foods (and activities) not auto-populating and is currently investigating. For updates, please see this thread.
As a workaround on the iOS app you can pull the entry from your Custom food list as a workaround in the meantime. I know many of you have been doing this already, thanks for working with us and your reports.

Please update us on this issue. My first message about this issue was posted months ago. Inability to use the app to its fullest is extremely annoying.
