I saw some questions on the forum about this and am not sure what to do.

I upgraded from a 6 to a 6s.  I've had no problems logging in before and I swear I used "Facebook" credentials to do so. I checked the apps authorized to use Facebook to authenticate and things like the McDonald's App show up but not my FitBit app.

Did you *change* the app not to allow Facebook or Google to authenticate my login for FitBit?
Tons of apps do this today; so I don't understand why it's not available.
I did try *changing* my password; but after I did that and tried logging in on the website it said it wasn't a registered account for the e-mail I am registered for; maybe because I use the Facebook login on the website?

A password reset sounds like it won't fix it since I just did that, but I don't want to lose my account and all my friends.  That's frankly the only reason I still use a FitBit.  I have an Apple Watch that does everything my FitBit does and more; but I enjoy the competition to push me on my FitBit and keep up with everyone else.

Please advise.

Greg

Thank you Marco.

I'll try switching e-mails and see if that works.

Yeah ; I had logged on my iPhone previously (I've had the app for a number of years; dating back to older FitBit devices) and can login from the website using Facebook.  I have an old device that still works with the FitBit and I'm still "logged in" so I was syncing that and pushing up from there.

So now I will switch e-mails and switch back and see if that works.

I'll post if it worked.

Hello @DenverJuggler, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

This seems like a very odd situation, are you able to log in with your Facebook credentials in to the Fitbit website? If so, please go to the app settings and check that Facebook is listed here. If it's not, please let me know. Additionally, you can change the email associated to your account without losing your progress or friends by going to your personal settings and typing your new email address. Once you click on the SUBMIT button at the bottom you will be prompted to verify the new email.

I hope this can be helpful, please give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

Marco -

I did the password reset again with the same e-mail address (it didn't let me see a new one) and then logged in right away with those credentials and it took.  Then I logged in on my phone now using the e-mail address and password and I'm good.

Thanks for your assistance -
