Unable to receive Notifications on Alta.

It has worked perfectly well for months and then all of a sudden I noticed I wasn't getting notified when someone called me although it still notifies me of steps etc.  I have tried restarting by pressing the button on the charger three times but nothing has helped.  Any ideas?

Hello @trf1960, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

If you have already restarted your Alta, I would like to suggest  you to go to your iPhone settings and make sure Do Not Disturb is disabled. Then go to Settings > notifications > Fitbit and make sure the following is enabled:

  • Allow Notifications.
  • Show in Notification Center
  • Show on Lock Screen.

If your tracker is still unable to receive Notifications, let's try to reset Notifications in the app. To do this:

  1. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and check if your tracker is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this device.
  2. Restart your phone
  3. Open the Fitbit app, tap on Account > Alta > Notifications and enable them once again.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else. Smiley Wink

I too now have this problem after doing a restart to correct the sleep issue.

it was working fine till the restart. Neither issue is corrected.

I have done the instructions as per above but still no notifications.

Please help.

Hi, I called the customer support line in the end and they went through it with me and mine is now back to working correctly. Basically I had to 'forget this device' on my Iphone and set it all up again but it did the trick. Try it but otherwise call the support line and they will assist.

Thanks, for your message.

I did try this originally and it didn't work. Today I tried it a slightly different way by turning off the notifications within Fitbit, switching phone off then back on and all seems to be good now. I just hope the sleep thing continues to work as I've had many problems with that lately.

Thanks again 🙂 Much appreciate it.

Hello @L_MMRC, I hope you're doing fine, thanks for joining the conversation. Smiley Happy

I appreciate you have tried the troubleshooting steps described above. At this moment I would like to ask you for a screenshot of how Notifications have been configured in the Fitbit app and one of your phone Settings > Notifications > Fitbit screen. That will help me check this further. Additionally, you can try to restart Notifications once again following the steps on my previous post, remember to remove the tracker from the Bluetooth settings in order to restart Notifications.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, I'll be waiting for your reply.

Hi there, thanks for your message.

I was able to get the notifications yesterday.

I actually turned off notifications within the Fitbit account, next I switched off the phone. Restarted phone & went back into notifications & allowed them again. This worked 🙂

If I have the problem again I will send you some screen shots.

thanks & kind regards
