Unable to sync with iOS app

I have been trying to sync my steps, exercise and calories burned to my app for over a week and the info doesn’t upload to my Fitbit app. I’ve updated the app, charges my Charge 2 and restarted my phone.

Pardon my english!
I started with a Charge 2, everything worked except that it was hard to synch with my phone. So I thought a new Charge would help me with these issues!
In the beginning everything was OK. My Fitbit didn't show me my steps any more, only kcals. My sleep app was gone. Oh what a disaster! I tried to synch it with my Samsung phone, but it wouldn't connect any more. I rebooted the charge 3 with no success. I deleted the app op the phone and started it again without it working. I did the same toward my pc laptop. Lenovo yoga. It has worked before. Now nothing works.

I bought my Charge 3 in november 2019 so it isn't that old. What will your advise be?
I read that other people have some of the same issues as I have. I suspect Fitbit has problems from the server?
I'm Norwegian and I am not so good in explaining my problems.

It seems like my Charge 3 syncs fine for a bit after firmware update, then starts having issues with the first sync in the morning.  There are no issues syncing during the day.  When I have an issue, in the morning, the only way I've been able to get a sync is to turn off the phone and turn it back on.  I've completed all the Bluetooth troubleshooting, the phone is on the supported list, etc.

Has this issue been addressed in the Charge 4, or will it suffer the same issue?

Since my iPad was upgraded to the new iPADOS 13.4.1 I haven’t been able to get my device to be found or sync with the Fitbit app despite doing all the  troubleshooting tips elsewhere on the forum. Strange thing is it will sync to my iPhone 7 on which the operating system was updated to IOS 13.4.1. I suspect there might be an issue with the Fitbit app after the new iPad OS Update. I’m using a new replacement device So it shouldn’t be the device, especially as it syncs with my iPhone. This is really frustrating as I rarely use my iPhone for monitoring apps and everything was working prior to the update installation.

Hi everyone. It's great to see you here and welcome to our new members. I'm sorry for the delayed response.

@ejn614@AstridMargreth and @SunsetRunner, thanks for sharing that your Fitbit devices aren't able to sync correctly, as well for the steps tried on your own. I understand how important it's for you to keep your data and let's work on this together. There are different factors that may affect the way your Fitbit and the Fitbit app communicate and even though you tried some steps, I'd recommend to give last try to the following in the given order:

  1. Remove your Fitbit and any other device from the Bluetooth settings.
  2. Turn off other Bluetooth connections nearby.
  3. Force quit the Fitbit app as described here.
  4. Reboot your phone.
  5. Open the Fitbit app, tap on your profile picture > Fitbit device > Sync Now.

@DBarb, thanks for the information provided and for your efforts while troubleshooting your Fitbit. I got in touch with our Support team and I was told that you already have a case created with them. They'll further investigate your case and reply back to you via email with more details. Please note that due to recent events affecting our operations there might be a delay in their reply, but they'll get in touch with you soon.

By the way, I’ve moved your post to this new thread so we can keep our forums organized.

I'll be around, keep me posted.

Hi.
Thanks for the suggestion but I’d already followed the processes laid out in the forum. However when I followed your suggestion I was unable to reconnect the device as during the setup the app was unable to find my device. It was then that I tried to reconnect an old Alta HR device, which connected very easily to the iPad, which indicated to me that there was something not right with either the Charge 3 ‘mechanism’ or the iPadOS 13.4.1 update not now allowing the charge 3 to be found by the app. That was why I connected support who, to be fair, did their best to resolve the issue, but as the device couldn’t be found by the iPad app, the problem was escalated to the next tier of support.

By way of additional information, I also have an iPone 7 running IOS13.4.1, and when I downloaded the app onto my iPhone, and then tried to connect my Charge 3, the iPhone app easily found the Charge 3, hence why I was suggesting that the problem was between the device software and perhaps a clash with the new iPadOS update. But I’m no expert just passing on my observations, enabling someone to track down the problem which seems to be affecting a number of Fitbit users, and that’s only the ones putting something on the Community Forums.

Just updated my iPhone to iOS 13.4 and now my Fitbit Charge 3 “cant be found”. Makes me wish I hadn’t updated my phone!!  Judging by the comments in this forum, the same issues happened last year with an iPhone update. Hope there is a resolution soon as I count on my Fitbit app to sync with my other fitness program.

I have tried every single step to fix this problem on my end. Nothing works. It has been this way for weeks and I am super frustrated.  Can you please say when this app problem will be corrected??  The app can’t find my device now from. Nothing works.

I have followed all of the steps multiple times over. Nothing helps.  I am really frustrated. It has been weeks since my Fitbit has worked in any capacity with the app.  Currently the app can’t find my device. I haven’t had notifications in probably a month or more. When do you anticipate this being corrected?  It’s super frustrating. Thanks.

DBarb - I have the opposite issue - I updated my iPhone but not my iPad so the app is still working on the iPad.  Given that you have said your iPad can no longer find your device, I am loathe to follow the processes recommended on the forum for my iPhone.  While it is less convenient to use my iPad, I think I will stay with it and hope that there is a resolution to this problem between iOS 13.4 and iPhone/iPad.

since then I haven’t been able to get the app to sync with my Inspire HR - it doesn’t recognise the Fitbit on Bluetooth either. I’ve no idea how to fix this.

ive logged in and out of the app, turned the Bluetooth on and off, turned the phone on and off etc.
please help!
thanks

Looks like this post is from a real Fitbit person! My Charge 2 stopped syncing With iPad and I tried all these things unsuccessfully. I then bought a Charge4 thinking the Charge 2 was faulty. The Charge4 successfully set up with the iPad, but following that has failed to sync at all. I deleted the Fitbit app and reinstalled. Still nothing. Any advice?
