I have a new Charge 3. It was recognized by my iPhone and apparently did an initial sync (my data from my Alta HR appears in my Charge 3 dashboard). But it keeps saying an update is available and it keeps returning an error when I try to download the update.
Charge 3 is charge and is near my iPhone. I have confirmed Bluetooth is on and working and co firmed I have internet connection. I have restarted the Charge 3 several times and restarted my iPhone. Still won’t complete the update.
Moderator Edit: Clarified Subject.
I’m having the exact same problem as you. I have an Alta, but my new Charge3 arrived today. Pairs & syncs ok but wants an update. Fails every time at 5%. It’s useless.
Same "Something went Wrong" issue with brand new Charge 3 that just arrived today. I have tried all the trouble-shooting tips. Devices is fully charged but cannot pair in bluetooth with my iPhone SE. Perhaps that is the problem? But then again the Fitbit app can see the Charge 3 so they must be somewhat communicating.
Sounds like I need to return this to Amazon or just get an Apple Watch?
Same issue here. I’m really disappointed. I purchased the charge 3 today and the initial setup was ok with the code and app etc, but it needed an update to work. I’ve tried everything, but nothing has worked. Have tried all the previously mentioned troubleshooting steps. When I spoke to an advisor on chat, they told me to wait 24 hours and try again.
I paid for a product I was hoping to be able to use! I bought the device on holiday, so it’s not simple for me to return it to the store either. Really hope Fitbit find a solution.

Best AnswerOK so I left my new Fitbit charging overnight and tried the update again this morning and it worked on the second try. I’m glad it’s sorted but it shouldn’t have been like that! None of us should have had to even go near the forum for help, these trackers should just work!!
Best AnswerEverything is working fine now - update completed. There must have been a problem FitBit side as there was a notification on the forum saying they 'are aware of an issue with firmware updates on all devices'. I'm a happy camper again this morning 🙂
Best AnswerI, too, cannot update my 3.
I followed the steps to connect new Fitbit, got to step 3 where I chose the option to replace,, and then it just said “connecting” for over 30 min
I have a fairly new iPhoneXR. iOS version 13.3 that is up to date. Brand new Charge 3. It is charged and connected to my desktop pc. I have the latest Fitbit app and have reinstalled in about 6 times. It finds the Charge 3 and syncs. I have set up an account. But it will not do the update and start the fitbit.
I have tried multiple time to update my Fitbit App from Charge 2 to Charge. I have followed all the suggestions (turn ipad off and on, turn bluetooth off and on, logging out of Fitbit, deleting app and reinstalling. Still get message “Something went wrong. There was an error while trying to pair your device. Abort
I am using Ipad IOS 13.3. Any suggestions?

unable to update. I’ve tried all the forum suggestions including yours. I’m syncing but during an update it hangs up about 2/3 thru and stops. I’ve tried everything the past 4 days. Including resets, setting up new device, turning the iPhone off, turning Bluetooth off then on etc. please help. Very frustrating.

Best AnswerTbh, its been a very long time since I fixed mine but I had to update it using the app on PC if that's any help. If you can't figure it out, I would contact customer service.
